DD is pissed that he was so wrong about Whitmore and is now trying to derail the conversation. Classic stuff.

Draft-and-stash for Jokic was probably the single best thing that could have happened for his career though; he had a massive leap forward in development the year after he was drafted, and the Nuggets were stacked in the frontcourt in 2014-2015. There's an alternate universe where Jokic gets picked in the first round and can therefore afford to pay his buyout as a 19-year old, gets outplayed by Jusuf Nurkic in his rookie year, picks up a minor nagging injury because he was playing too infrequently, and is salary dumped by his third year with his 4th-year option declined (the Usman Garuba career path).

I don't see some grand conspiracy or bias against European players by the fact that Jokic lasted that long; it's more a reflection that he probably came out too early, and player valuation can differ widely after just one year of exceptional play or disappointing output. Getting him in the second round doesn't seem that different from the scores of lightly recruited/ranked American high school players who increase or tank their draft stock after their freshman year of college.

What? No, I am right about Whitmore - he is 21, and will only improve....but my biggest RIGHT point was we gave him away for NOTHING, when we didn't have to.....but that probably won't matter as Okogie has stepped in very nicely.

What are the Wizards fans saying about Whitmore? I've looked but have been unsuccessful in finding a forum like ours where anyone has said anything about him specifically.

Far from that breh, my other teams are Mavs' arch nemesis Thunder and a tad Washington for Cam, Magic etc. Slowly but surely getting on that Portland train.

Love watching extra young players, and being a long term visitor of the NBA Dish had me watching all NBA games.

Just saying that last year when Doncic was out, Kyrie had them playing at a good pace.

Nico cannot be trusted, you would need a GM that has a firm hand on your franchise player.

I remember back when I had a ton of respect for you. Your posts were objective. In fact they were thoughtful, unbiased, intelligent and insightful. I looked forward to reading your comments and content. Now you’ve become the joke of this forum. What a fall from grace but yet it’s every one else who is deranged.

In a blowout loss against New York, Cam got 11 min and scored 2 points and 1 rebound.

I think the honeymoon is officially over there.

Cam does not have the right people around him. If he had stayed here and rode the bench, the narrative would have been, "The Rockets are so deep and in win-now mode, that is why Cam does not play". Now that he is on a crapy team, the narrative will be," He can't even get meaningful minutes on a bad team."

He went from getting a decent sign and trade deal to being lucky to get a minimum deal or being out of the league.

Scam Whitmore is just a marginal player…always has been, always will be

Alex Sarr has quietly been very good for Washington in his 2nd season

You're right. Cam's ceiling was a Lou Williams 6th man type that Tari currently fills. If he would have kept his head out of his ass and TRIED to play D I think the team was more than willing to put up with his ****. It's sad that someone so athletic with some talent even admitted he had his head up his azz. Do something about it. You went from a team that valued you to a dead team where you cannot get anywhere near the starting lineup.

The not passing thing is going to get him out of the league in a hurry. He's not Cam Thomas and he is about to find out how much that skill set it worth this offseason, no D, no passing. Good luck with that.

Teams want what the Thunder and Rockets do. Switchable high effort, high IQ players that can do everything on the court with any group. The Thunder don't win on accident.

No BBIQ + bad attitude = out of the league. Another waste of elite physical attributes

Why do you blame the "people around him"? The problem is Cam's head isn't screwed on and he can't understand it isn't all about him.

I’m pretty sure him and his agent asked out so we had to trade him.

I gotta admit though, even though I’m one of the biggest Cam critics, I did not see this coming. Thought he’d get more playing time on the lowly Wizards team. Oh wells. Not our problem anymore. Good riddance. lol
