My humble opinion is, “Avoid knuckleheads at all cost if possible…”

I’ve seen that Morant has been in trouble for disciplinary issues/stuff in the past. And if I remember correctly, it’s been numerous times. In the past it was originally attributed to youth, but sometimes folks stay in perpetual “bad boy” behavior mode well into their middle age years…. If that’s the case look elsewhere Rockets!

Tremendous talent, but huge headache purveyor.

The Rockets under Morey, or during the Silas years would definitely kick the tires on Morant this year.
    Now?
    Nope.

Morant and KPJ at a Miami club would be interesting. Broken bottle fights per season, 3.5

I agree, it makes a lot of sense for PHX. Reunite him with Dillion Brooks.

A top 20 player becomes available every deadline these days. If you are managing your assets well and replenishing the treasure chest, you just have to be a bit patient to get the right one.

No, we shouldn't blow a bunch of assets on Morant. We need someone to help people drive, we don't need another guy who needs to drive. Morant has looked like ass in double big lineups (for the exact same reason our guards are ass at scoring at the rim).

Hate to say it, but I'd even take Tyler Herro over him.

If people do remember Ja in 30 years, it won't be for a good reason.

I don’t want this guy anywhere near my team. How many red flags do u have see to avoid an obvious problem? They just suspended this guy again for conduct detrimental to the team…after all he’s put them through. If the off court stuff doesn’t convince you, how bout the fact that he can’t stay healthy. This guy has played 65 games in the last 3 yrs. Hard pass!

Reed, tari, capela , 2 suns picks , and 2 seconds for morant and filler .. I’d do it . Yea morant is a bone head yes he can’t shoot yes he has been injury prone and yes he is basically almost redundant with amen BUT he has instant chemistry with adams, he is an actual PG, and I think ime can straighten him out. Getting him for cheap would be a W and if it only cost Reed and tari and the suns picks it’s worth it

Washington should change their name back to the Bullets and trade for Ja and his guns.

ja / amen / kd/ Jabari / sengun — Davidson / okogie / DFS / adams .. that’s a hell of a lineup though . And fvv might be back in time for the playoffs

Wait who did we get that was anything close to Morant level under Morey? Closest thing I can recall is Artest, and I do remember being pretty conflicted about that acquisition.

We can’t match the $44 million dollars contract without gutting our key pieces. FVV is $25 mil, Reed is $10 mil could work since MEM would focus more on picks but if we can work three team deal and send Ja to ATL and we get Trae would be better option if we even make a trade. I would say Ja is slightly better Jalen but worse defensively and not a Ime guy

Morey kept maximum flexibility so its not a comp that he got someone exactly like Ja because there are not many players like him historically but this is more of a comment about how Morey's Rockets were in rumors for just about any star player rumored to be on the block or in free agency (Although Westbrook is probably a very close comp from a talent prospective). He always maintained flexibility to add a star player.

Harden, Dwight, CP3, Westbrook. There were countless rumors about getting Bosh before he went to Miami, they went after Dirk in free agency, many top players in that era were tied to Houston. Morey was also tasked with building teams around T-Mac, who was a similar player. Morey also took on calculated risks to try to bring star players to Houston regardless of them being a potential detriment to the team (Lawson, Artest), he saw them as potential discounts. He would find a way to pay the least for someone like Ja, and worst case if it didn't work out he would get a decent return for him later.
