There were 2 viewpoints, if it was an American player, yeah athleticism ruled......

If it was a Euro, it was either stash them overseas or let them slide to the hell of the 1st round or 2nd round and take them.

It might be true in years past. Not anymore. All the Frenchies picked so high in recent drafts mostly because of their athleticism.

On the other hand, players like Jokic, Sengun, and even Doncic were undervalued in the drafts because of their body types. I think people wrote off guys like Sengun and Reed before giving them time to show what they could be, yet kept hoping Jalen and Cam to turn the corner mostly because of body type and athleticism.

Silver is trying to suck the last drip of talent in Europe now.

If you settle African American ballers in Europe, it would have had the same effect as African players learning the Euro way.

You basically create a player that has the skills and the athleticism, and in Wemby's case all size and length.

Think about this: Already at this point (age 26), TWO teams have traded Luka.

All three of these cases--Doncic, Jokic, and Sengun--are emphatic cases where the scouts were completely accurate and the front offices didn't trust them. It unfathomable if you're watching early scouting tape of these guys to pass on them. You have to convince yourself to believe something different from what you're seeing.

In this case of our Rocket, Sengun went through a major phyiscal transformation in his last year of Turkish ball. It was really the first hints of how much he would mature with a proper workout regime. And the skills were already there. It was simply about adding more puzzle pieces.

This is one of those guys who has "it" --mentally and with skill. Lots of others simply don't.

Thats at least 2 GMs that should be/have been fired. Nico Harrison/Dallas is either doing the league's bidding (to put a great player in LA) or he is just all time bad at his job.
That 2029 Dallas Pick is looking better and better....

There was no Kangaroo anything only IGNORANCE and cult members say that, he has been a ****ing law breaker his whole life.

Truth Derangement syndrome has no boundaries.

You can't call someone a lawbreaker and then try to pigeon hole it into sports only, it is everywhere now.

People just don't want to hear it because it breaks their world view, but unfortunately it is already broken.
    But your point is taken.

I was pretty upset about the Lakers getting a superstar handed to them on a platter, but at least I can appreciate the potential boost this gives to our pick. This is the only year Dallas can tank. Their 27 pick belongs to Charlotte and their 28 pick swaps with OKC. AD and Kyrie will be in their mid-30s by the 28-29 season. Hard to be excited a draft four years from now, but it's nice to have picks from teams run horribly like Phoenix and Dallas while we are competitive today.

I don't think Cooper Flag is going to be an all time great either. When he measured in at 6' 7 3/4 at the draft I thought that he was going to have to develop an elite perimeter game to be an all-nba player - I think that is a work in progress at this point. Davis and Kyrie are free agents at the end of the 2028 season. I hope Nico Harrison lasts long enough to give them extensions in 2027 off season...

You know better, but still doing it. That seems to be a personal problem that you can’t control. I have been a supporter of yours in the past and we agree on a lot of basketball takes. I also call you out on some of your takes and would expect the same from you. Politics don’t belong in the sports side of this forum, period. I avoid the D&D because of the vitriol. Please keep it out of the forums that I come to talk about my favorite pastime. It really shouldn’t be that hard for you to keep it in the right forum.

Just keep it in the D&D forum. No place for it here.

DD is right about criminals being in the white house, but let's not let that distract us from his horrible track record choosing winning basketball players and ruining promising basketball players careers.

Coop is going to be raw for a while, not going to contribute like Wemby, Antman, Lebron, Duncan, right out of the gate.

But the talent is undeniable, the Offense has to develop though, otherwise he is just Amen Thompson lite.

I hear ya, just think that if folks don't deal with it, and get their heads out of the sand, we won't have a HERE to talk about the team anymore.

This is exactly what I am thinking... He has to develop his game and it will take 2-3 years to see just how high his ceiling is as an NBA player. He isn't going to dominate NBA players athletically like he did in High School and at Duke. Maybe if he was truly 6' 10" like they were pushing when he was in high school.

I think his ceiling is currently as a multi-year all-star, but I don't know if he ever gets to that "top player on a championship team" level.

I think Kyrie coming back would help a lot......just so you wait.;)

He is out of position and nobody is setting him up, he has to play some sort of Magic Johnson PG which he is not.

The Championship dilemma lol, I mean they won it with Dirk and whole bunch of shooters, nobody saw that coming.

Carlisle has to be brought back though.
