all these ads being made with nothing but AI that are coming out now a bunch of people are gonna be out of work in the coming years and they really want no AI regulation for the next 10 years in the “Big Beautiful Bill”
I think it's a good strategy if you're the home team and you're tied in extra innings. That guy on third can get home on a pop fly if there's only one out. Game over.
Yeah theoretically but it doesn’t seem to work out that often. 1 out is such a big difference from having zero outs. Not to mention an intentional walk to the next batter just sets up the double play. Also, last night it would’ve tied the game not been game over, even worse decision in those circumstances.
There's about a dozen different things that go into that decision. Given the situation it's sometimes the right move, sometimes not.
I get it. While I’m not blind to context, I generally side with the stat nerds that giving up a free out is stupid.
Toronto put in a pinch runner (fastest guy on the team) at 1st. They really should have had him steal to avoid the double play. That game was like the perfect storm. I thought 2019 was bad, but Toronto fans have to be going into therapy in droves this morning.
All IKF had to do was take a proper lead, and secondary lead, off of 3B and he waltzes across home plate standing up. And yeah, if I was a Jays fan I'd be reliving that play every night for the next few thousand or so nights
Im losing track, is this the bases loaded in the 9th play or the 1st and 3rd when trailing at the end?
My bad, bases loaded in the 9th. But yeah, the squandered opportunities by the Jays do kinda blend together.
Now, due to their "new and improved" app, I can't click on a boxscore without the app opening on my phone. I don't need that crap. If/when you find a good mobile site for boxscores, please post it here.
Right?! I'm paying nothing for it and it won't give me exactly what I want! eta: reminds me of this bit
You're generating ad revenue for them at the very least, and they are going out of their way to make things more inconvenient for you. I pay a provider for their channel. I don't ask for much. Don't mess up your NBA box score which was the best. Show Longhorns games and make sure to get Matthew McConaughey on as much as possible during dead-ball time. Don't screw up broadcasts of Houston teams too badly during national televised games. That's all I want from ESPN.
Just noticed that they put fouls at the far right just before +/- and after all of the shooting stats. It should be before all the shooting stuff, next to TO. Now I'm annoyed by its presence there and can't unsee it.
