This MFer got cocky as hell off one meh win. I really hope these soft ass reporters throw that "You Good?" line back at him/
Just an absolute bummer. I'm tired of giving credit to the defense while simultaneously feeling like this is about the 3rd game they've blown. Every single time a gotta have it play happens, the stupid shitty opponent gets it. Bo Nix didn't run all day and of course this defense gives up the back breaker to give away the game. Then follows it up but just giving up and making sure there was absolutely no doubt. Offensively, once CJ went out I knew it was going to be an uphill climb. Mills can beat shitty divisions teams in a pinch, but he's not going to do anything special. Still not entirely sure how the hit on CJ wasn't a penalty. If Azeez pulled that ****, he'd get a 5 week suspension. It doesn't really matter if they hit the head/neck because the QB was sliding and in a slide they're protected. Or is the NFL just making **** up week to week. Yeah I know it was a late slide, it's a penalty 100/100 times except somehow against head hunting sean payton. Nick Chubb is not a starting caliber running back. Everyone complains about the o-line but I'm so sick and tired of not having a legitimate rb. Mixon was very good last year, but he's old. We need to take the ****ing position seriously for once. On the last Texans drive, that catch was in bounds and WR was going backwards - by the NFLs rules, that should be a running clock. Refs were just bad all ****ing day. I swear they're running intern crews out there. These ****ers don't even seem to know the rules. The spots are consistently bad. It's just awful. I'd rather not think about the goaline ****ery, but it seems like Caley heard people clamoring for QB sneak and FB runs, and said alright, let's ****ing run it in the most predictable situation possible to make sure it doesn't work. Absolutely ****ing ridiculous what we're doing inside the 5 yard line. I sure hope CJ is okay. This really blows.
Caley is going to hide behind Stroud's injury and Denver's defense being good, but the fact is he makes picking up less than 3 yards on 3rd/4th down look like the hardest task ever placed at someone's feet. The guy is a complete buffoon, and doesn't have an ounce of creativity with his play calling. I understand that Mills is extremely limited and can't even complete simple passes over the middle of the field, but at least try SOMETHING to free up some space for your skill players. Having all those opportunities in Denver's territory in the first half and doing **** all with it was ALWAYS going to bite us in the ass. I just feel so bad for this defense because every minute flaw in guys like Henry T. and Pitre is getting magnified due to them always being on the field in game winning drives with no margin for error. Both Nick Cs need to be jettisoned into the Sun, preferably tomorrow (I know that's not happening, but I can dream).
Exactly. Just sit him for a few games and tank. Mills is has a PHD in tanking already, give him the start the next 3 games.
The thing is, eventually any defense is going to break some. The run plays were almost inevitable because they knew they were going to pass, brought no pressure, and everyone is matched up meanwhile Tootoo is off in fairyland guarding nothing as he eyes the QB. Dude is always out of position on these plays somehow. I would say we need another good LB but the defense is good enough to win these games. Offense was down there SIX times...SIX...and have 15 points. IF the offense was average this is a blowout and the defense is pinning their ears back and wrecking shop the rest of the game.
The Texans are soooo offensively incompetent; it is unwatchable. The season is essentially over; not too early to make leadership changes. OC should be the first to go.
Did anyone notice how Denver gave Nix tons of time to throw? We'd win it all with their OL. We're not even a playoff team with ours. Maybe next year.
Exactly this. This is it. Tootoo and Pitre are good players but the defense is always put in this situation where they can't make a single mistake. The offense stumbles and fumbles their way through a game but the defense makes 2-4 mistakes and people get on them. Stingley gets beat once...which happens...a guy is out of position...which happens...but on the flip side the offense is in the redzone MULTIPLE times...have 1 yard to go TWICE...and they can't score. Just can't do it.
Time to clean house, fire Caserío, Caley, and DeMeco, trade Hunter, Mixon, and Patterson and get some draft picks. We aren't winning any Superbowl.
