You cherry picked one minor comment in my whole post and missed the context and then blamed me for "losing my $h1t". How very "internet" of you. Let me state it more clearly and give you less ammo to cherry pick one minor point. "This team, as constructed on November 2nd 2025, would be better with FVV particularly against tough defensive teams such as OKC. You need a guy that can help them get into their sets without getting rushed." Regarding who is bringing up the ball, it's not about stats and the # of turnovers. It's about the eye test of can they get into their sets. There are times it seems to take 8-10 seconds just to run their play only to get rushed and take a low-quality shot. That doesn't result in turn-over. It may result in a KD bailout shot or someone takes a brick and Adams gets the offensive rebound. That works against inferior teams. That didn't work against OKC or Detroit. But if you must, Amen had one turnover on a backcourt violation and nearly did it a second time in the same game. Last night, Tari stepped out of bounds twice. The number of times I see Reed pull up his dribble to make a pass drives me mad. I think Reed should have to put $1,000 into a jar every time he stops his dribble to make a pass. It's just all just a little clunky right now. But I agree with you, they are figuring it out. I'm not panicking. Just an observation. It might get better (or might not).
You've gotta give the team time before making judgments about missing Fred. I said prior to the season his loss would cost some early games. But we've got to wait a while to see things develop before making an informed judgment. It's very possible the offense will be better off with Fred as an assistant coach instead of playing. Everyone should keep an open mind. IMO, the early evidence is promising.
Yea, that's literally what I said so I agree with you (or you agree with me). My last sentence read: "It's just all just a little clunky right now. But I agree with you, they are figuring it out. I'm not panicking. Just an observation. It might get better (or might not)."
.1 from top 5. Our defensive rating is 110.1 (sixth), where as Dallas and Detroit are tied for fifth with a 110 rating.
Fred is not in the lineup, but our pace has slowed up since last season. I wasn’t expecting that. Weren’t we supposed to play faster with Fred out? I suppose It’s because the offense is going through Sengun. I’m not complaining, it’s just a surprise. Our turnovers are up, so we could benefit from better ball handling and passing. But, we may improve as the season progresses. I’m shocked we are making our threes. Hope it continues. Taking far fewer, but much better percentage. I think this is the result of not having Jalen Green shooting and missing. We have areas where we can improve, but we seemed to have really improved on offense. And, we haven’t even seen DFS yet.
Jalen Green being gone means our fast break opportunities have been reduced. That's really where he was an advantage. Now that we have mainly half court players, our pace is way slower.
Cam Thomas is what Cam Whitemore is when given all the runway. I would even say Thomas is much better creator and shooter than Whitemore but he is athletic. If Cam Thomas can’t even find the bidder at $15 mil per season what make Whitemore think he can find the home where he can be the main focus on the team? I think in five year Whitemore will regret his decision to leave Rockets 100%
I just laugh at the people that were still defending Jalen Green last year, when it was beyond obvious this team was better without him on the court. When you have an efficient star that teams double and triple team he will get others good shots. Green couldn't find a good shot for himself or others consistently. Smith, Eason, and Okogie are killing the corner 3's. Smith - .600 of his 3s are from the corner at .455 Eason - .632 at .559 Okogie - .667 at .391 Yeah, that is going to lead to a lot of efficient basketball.
When DFS comes back the offense and defense will be even better. We could potentially run so many different offensive setups with 4 shooters + Sengun or with Amen at the point/dunkers spot. If someone is having an off night we have shooters everywhere and Reed is getting more comfortable with letting it fly.
