Josh Okogie is fulfilling the promise of Jalen Green for the Rockets, kinda like Luke Skywalker redeeming Darth Vader. While only 6 games in, the dude has shown 100% effort, elite defense and a scorching 3 pt shot. Its not a coincidence we started winning when he started starting. He is the perfect complement to Amen giving us that "terror twin" effect in the starting lineup while being a reliable 3 pt outlet to KD and Sengun. In fact Godkogie is playing so good I am starting to get afraid we wont be able to keep him next year. How would the finances look if Tari is also looking to get paid? If push comes to shove I'd rather keep him over Tari tbh since he is a lot more reliable and mature than Tari.
I agree because it’ll get Reed’s growth quicker if started but let’s see how things go, Josh has been amazing so far on both ends.
I think he is the best option as a starter at PG, but.....off the bench he can get more shots and learn, and Okogie is fine, I worry that we might need someone else that can dribble besides Amen, but Sengun can do that some. So for now, I am going to agree with you about Reed. DD
JO being able to hit wide open jumpers is such a different kind of feeling. JO will become a true rocket when he forgets how to shoot.
What an unbelievable job by Stone. He's a rotation guy even with DFS back, for sure. I legit thought he was a practice squad guy when Stone signed him.
Okogie alone is worth DB and Jalen and then they throw a bonus with KD. Stone cooked this off-season.
Josh should continue starting untill reed can play defense better. In fact, if he can sustain his 3 point% to 40+%, he should start all the way till FVV returns. JO has been a pleasant surprise, providing pesky defense, 3 points pressure-relief and thus spacing, and acting as a balancing, stabilizing factor for the team.
