Lol. First off, we are in game 5 of the season… 5 games in, he’s now shooting 44.4% from 3 and is averaging 10.4 points and 3.5 assists in like 20 minutes. Last season, 4.4 and 1.4 on 34% 3. Take your pick… it’s either too early on to judge this season, or he’s definitely improved. Are you watching the games?
He gets his stats from blow out wins like vs Nets and Celtics on a back to back. Against good teams he doesnt shoot much or doesnt get played. So far I havent seen a game when he has been a major factor when it counted. I'd like to ask you the same question are you watching the games? When you limit your shots when you are shooting bad (0/4) and take tons of attempts vs bad teams then obv your average will be high. But you are right he has definitely improved his shooting as he can now hit wide open 3s. I misspoke on that.
LOL. @roslolian called him Brickperd. Now Reed is making his shots and he is looking for other excuses to hate.
Crazy. Putting a shooter in position to shoot. Novel idea. He's shown more of contributing to a winning team than Jalen Green ever did in 4 seasons.
I'm pretty sure that's the Jalen fanboi that said Reed Sheppard has poor shot mechanics. Guy is nothing but a lolcow
Haha. He scored 15 against Brooklyn (Toronto was his worst game this season..) I’m also not simply watching his numbers - I doubt he will continue to shoot so poorly inside the arc. That will normalize. He’s looking more confident, playing in the flow of the offense. He had 8 assists two games ago. He has continuing work to do on the other end, but it’s better. Long way to go with staying in front of his man, but he’s bodying people up more and the zone also helps him out. He also seems like a coachable young guy. At the very least, it’s too soon to make blanket statements like you made.
You forgot to mention going for the steel instead of playing defense. Net negative on the defensive end
Listen man dont post bad things about Reed Sheppard the Reed fanboys wont let you go According to them Reed is a defensive menace disrupting passing lanes and being a triple threat.
Im sorry but he looks like a bust to me Looks like a 6 foot Kyle Korver He looks extremely uncomfortable bringing the ball up and setting up an offense, there’s some things that I don’t think you can all of a sudden get better at once you get in the an NBA. I hope I’m wrong but even if I am does it matter if it takes him 3 yrs to be serviceable?
If Reed can shoot above 40% for the entire season I will gladly eat crow and apologize lol. Unlike other people here I can admit when I'm wrong.
Bro give it a rest. If you’re a Rockets fan then cheer for the Rockets. You’re like a LOF. 99% of your posts are about Reed Sheppard. Stop praying that our 3rd overall pick fails. We need all our players to pan out if we want to win a championship.
Nah I post about everyone. The reason why is so many respond to my posts about Reed. I am not praying he fails I just dont see it after a year 5 games.
I understand it is premature but I expect more than Aaron Holiday for the top 3 pick. Its all good I am just posting for fun. If I am wrong then I eat crow its not the end of the world. Unfortunately other people are way too attached and make all sorts of biased arguments just to not admit they are wrong.
I am sure Jalen Green won his share of games for the Rockets over the years. Saying Reed has already done more than him is just hating and honestly just shows how biased the Reed fanboys are. BTG is too scared to take my bet are you willing to take the 100 usd bet that Reed wont get 35M 2 yr that Jalen got? Or are you also too scared to put your money where your mouth is?
Maybe the best game of his career thus far. No TOs, made some good passes, hot shooting night and most importantly the team played good defense with him in the game. In the first half there was no full time exaggerated zone to hide him, the team played mostly straight up and he was able to blend. It's a process and he's still extremely young.
all 3 assists were for 3 pointers. I have said it before and i will say it again after i say it this time. reed is a winning player. just like jabari smith jr. talking about what contract reed will get?? who knows but you cant have a high contract at every position on the court. so "3rd pick should be better" well you cant pay him and amen and tari and jabari and sengun if they are all scoring 20ppg a game. they are all cannibalizing each other's numbers and hopefully will be able to stay together for the next 6-7 years. I dont think you can give every one of the players a 3rd contract but i am hoping some get a 3rd and everyone gets a 2nd contract to stay on the team.
You cant pay everyone but your value is also reflected in the contract you get thats why Jabari got signed to 25M immediately while Tari has to go in RFA. I am not sure Reed is a winning player he is too short and I dont see the kind of upside I would want in a championship roster. If we compare him to say Ajay Mitchell who is a backup and taken in the 2nd round I would take AM no questions asked. Hell even our own Okogie is better than him.
