Honestly, I think he's a year or two away .... He can't fix what's broken during the season. The biggest issue for me is that he picks up his dribble an awful lot, especially when he sees the double team coming and then he's in trouble - a turnover waiting to happen. When you are a 6 foot point guard, you can't pick up the dribble at the time line and expect to make a play over or out of the double that far from the basket. More often than not, the open player is in the opposite corner .... a long pass to make with any degree of success. He's going to have to improve the handles - by a lot - if they expect to play him as a point guard. I'm not too concerned with the shooting, it'll come along .....
I wanted castle or buzelis. They should have drafted castle if they had no intention of keeping green or whitmore. Reed was just a very safe pick that screams role player.
I would agree in most drafts. But the 2024 draft didn't really have a BPA. Every one of the prospects have huge warts. So it became a matter of which warts you want to avoid. We sucked at shooting. We didn't want to get yet another guy who can't shoot. We had plenty of good defensive players. So we don't mind having a guy who isn't great at defense. Last year's class is still in its infancy. We can't make definitive conclusions yet. Players like Cunningham and Mobley broke out in their 4th season. We totally gave up on Jalen only after three seasons. Be more patient. Players need time to develop or to show you they are busts.
Amen just gambled and went for a steal on the left wing and somehow 3 passes later had already rotated over to Pritchard on the right wing and harassed him in to a pass. Probably 5-10 guys in the league that can make that play. It doesn't show up in a boxscore. It didn't even force a miss or a TO directly....he's just him. AMHiEM THOMPSON also KD and Alpi. God i love this team. edit: AND THEN THE FLUSH!!!
Castle can't shoot, turns the ball over too much. His skill set translates to journeyman wing defender. Think Tucker, Crowder, DFS, etc. without shooting. Sorry, a guy who can shoot over 40% from 3 and profiles to be a good defender has way more upside. Buzelis has done absolutely nothing so far. Not a great rebounder. Not a great passer. Not especially a good shooter. He's just a guy. Tell me what he has done to make him look like he has a high ceiling?
how could we give up on jalen before the season cunningham and mobley broke out when they were apart of the same draft class (2021)? their 4th season is his 4th season.
Well 5 games now he is still a non factor. He can hit wide open 3s now ok thats def a step in the right direction.
he’s been steadily improving and has been amazing at shooting the 3 ball , on ball pressure playing the passing lane and been pretty great at much needed secondary play making … you are just a hater
Cade missed most of his second season. He came back his 3rd season showing signs of improvement although his real breakout was in the 4th season. Mobley had been consistently a good player right from the start. It's his 4th season when he became a star. Jalen on the other hand had these cold-hot-cold-hot pattern with no sign of changing after 3 seasons. Actually, he did have his patented hot streak in his 4th season, only to fall back again.
