Not a fan of Ja, but you can't be a knucklehead and suck. There is a sliding scale for how much a player csn be a knucklehead relative to how skilled a player is.
Morant is a bad fit for our team. We are not in the grab talent phase, we are in the compete for a championship phase. Whoever we bring in needs to be way less than a max player. Derrick White would be a good get depending on price tag as he is signed for three more years in the low 30’s, although he is shooting horribly to start the year.
I honestly don’t see how Ja Morant will ascend this team to championship caliber. If everything works well and we could get Trae Young without loosing out Alpi will be interesting contender but Memphis will ask least Amen, all our picks along with expiring contract match.

I think he's saying that the salaries have to match. That's why trading for a PG gets tricky. It seems like we will keep Tari, and a trade would have to be centered around either FVV, Reed, or Capela. I want to keep Reed, but we'll see what happens.

It's not his choice, there's a salary cap. We are harcapped and cannot exceed the 1st apron for any reason. Whatever salary we send out, we will have to bring back that amount or less .
We can't use the disabled player exception if it puts us over the 1st apron. In order to use the exception, we'd have to dump salary so that we are under the 1st apron by at least the amount of the exception that we would use.
