Ayo Dosunmu is straight up bad. These are his on/off splits every year of his career: 2021: -11.0 2022: -7.4 2023: -2.9 2024: -9.5 2025: -15.4 And that's for the Bulls, who have been mostly a crappy team every year he's been there... and Dosunmu being on the court makes them way worse. He is just not good at basketball.
4 games is not a good sample size. Especially when 2 of those games were against terrible teams and 1 against a mid tier team in Detroit which was a loss.
I would also like to trade for Coby White. He's on a discount deal currently and is a really good offensive player. Good size as well. He's a bad defensive player though- certainly not a net positive defender. His defensive EPM is -1.4. That's worse than Anfernee Simons and Jordan Poole. He might work harder on defense when playing for Ime Udoka but his defense will still be a weakness. He has relatively short arms and below-average quickness on defense. He would solve most of our problems on offense though so I'd definitely support a trade.
Knowing fully well that Ime Udoka is the coach, there is a very slim chance Udoka even considers Anti-Udoka players and the whole management around Stone has to be on their knees begging, and even then not easy.
He’s a UFA this offseason. Are you willing to also give him like a 4/120 contract? If not, no reason to give up anything for him.
I don’t know the money numbers but is Fox a possibility? Doubt they want Harper to take a back seat if he’s cooking
I'd be curious if we could nab Trey Murphy from New Orleans. He fits perfectly with our build and we need a SG more.
SG is a bigger need in my opinion as long as he can handle the ball. If Okogie continues to shoot well from outside we don’t need a starter so that makes the field of players much larger to select from.
Oh I don't believe that EPM is that accurate, requires a ton of context it's still a very raw calculation. Billy Donvan said last season that he's a good defender and if there's one thing Donovan knows it's defense. The eye test tells me that on a good team his defensive EPM would be closer to 0.5 even if he didn't improve his defensive skills. Jabari and Amen guard the top 2 perimeter threats anyway so he'd have a pretty easy perimeter assignment every night. I'd invest in him. I think our offense would be top 3 and that covers a lot of mistakes. Hope we invest in a serious rotation piece like that before the deadline. Roster needs some balance.
Morant might become available now but him and Amen overlap too much. Really wondering if we should just go all in on Derrick White now that FVV is down and it's reasonable to expect him to decline a bit at this age. I wonder if they'd consider taking something based on Adams, Sheppard and a FRP. That's effective two FRP's and a C which they desperately need.
Don’t like Ja’s character/antics but I think we could get him for cheaper than usual, his stock is probably low. not sure what the fit would look like, but if he can shoot and play make. I think we’d look solid for the rest of the season. I’m sure the veterans and Udoka can fix the attitude
I'm not worried at all about any "overlap", the issue with Ja is that he's a mental midget locker room cancer who is a chucker on the court and a criminal off the court. When you are 6'2, you can't be a career 31% 3 point shooter and have a long career in the modern NBA....and he's only been available for 59 games in the previous 2 seasons. The theoretical Ja is a superstar, but the hollow void between his ears leads to him being a detriment for his team as often as he is beneficial to them. I wouldn't want anything to do with him for free.
I mean, do you know anything about him at all? Lol If this board thinks Jabari and Reed are bad shooters then Morant is the number 1 bricklayer in the world.
