Really enjoyed that last-second Dream Shake fadeaway from the three-point line to win ....... down 1 point.
Also, why the F would you trade the 6 11 guy with defensive versatility who is coming into their own on a reasonable 5 year contract?
I'm not trading Jabari... why would they do that? He's signed for pretty decent money (in terms of where we are, in 2025). He's also clearly a team player - will play whatever role they ask of him. He seems like a hard worker who cares about winning, and has shown improvement (particularly since last year - granted, small preseason and 1 game sample size). Seems coachable. He's not great at anything yet, but very good at a lot of things. I don't put that turnaround fadeaway at the buzzer on him. That was a poor play design. To me, Ime had some pretty awful plays drawn up down the stretch - what the heck was the Sengun turnaround fadeaway at the end of regulation? I would have rather seen Reed curling off some screens and try to pop a jumper in that situation, to be honest. I know he was like 2-7 from 3, but that would have been a better look than a dream shake fadeaway from Jabari.
Plus you dont really expect the 25M to be the clutch guy to win the game otherwise he would make more than 25M
I personally don't understand how we can rock a lineup of 4+ guys nearly 7ft and yet our bigs get the ball at the 3pt line and have hardly any possessions all game where the get the ball in the post.
I figured we were going to lose when KD fouled out and Amen left with leg cramps. Not enough firepower on the floor against a great defense like OKC's with just Alpi + roleplayers. Plus Ime sucks at drawing up buzzer beater plays, so it's generally on the players to make something out of nothing.
Pop may have been the best in NBA history at drawing up final plays. Ime should have learned from him.
I'm sure it didn't hurt that Pops had multiple HOF at his disposal in most years. I would say we have one sure fire HOFer who has played exactly one game for us so far. Also - said HOFer missed a FT that would have won the game. Sometimes the best things aren't plays at all but just basic execution.
Why you posting up this guy for a fade away turn around at the end of regulation , when you got Kd out there, is beyond me.
On his stat line Statistical improvement Or will his lows out sync his highs? You know. He is starting now, so should be up!
I think he can shoot 40% from 3 and average ~15/8. The main thing is he must play with passion and energy every game, punish defenses when they take him for granted, play within his ability and stop the disappearing acts. Let's assess after 15 games.
last year he averaged 10 FGAs a game. So far he has averaged 13 FGAs a game. It's up to Jabari now to maximize all the extra shots and touches given to him.
How the F is he versatile defensively? Can hide him on other teams worst offensive player or have him check an average to below average 4. That’s it. Hes a free bucket on anyone strong or fast. Hes decent in regular season vs bad teams but always a liability with no where to hide against the best teams.
