As bad as this season has been, if they can somehow muster a home win against a good Broncos team minus Surtain, they’ll be 4-4 w/ an excellent chance at 6-4 w/ Jaguars at home, @ Titans following Denver. Schedule is brutal making games like this weekend’s vs Denver the potential wins that could be the difference between being a wild card team or missing the postseason
I felt after the Titans/Ravens that the Seahawks game would be the true test to show if this team was for real or not. This is another of those types of games. If we lose this one it's hard for me to imagine we turn it around.
When you start 0-3, you will be facing critical games almost every week. They can't fall any further behind the other AFC playoff contenders, they will have to win almost every game against the teams that are ahead of them in the standings to have a shot, starting with this Sunday against Denver. If they win, they have a pulse. If they lose, that's church. Big difference between 4-4 with head to heads remaining against the other playoff contenders in front of you...but 3-5 is pretty much insurmountable in any scenario.
Yea, we failed the test in Seattle and after last week the Broncos and Nix are for real. IMO this is a MUST win, not just for our record but for the moral of the team and then fans, we go down 3-5 and while you might have a mathematical chance, what would it tell you about the team Our D needs to bow up and slow the Broncos down and get at least 1 TO, they have dam good playmakers, and the offense needs to keep evolving, I don't expect last week's results but were going to have to put some points up and have a few of those clock killing drives Texans 21 Broncos 17
On offense Seven, Nico and Dalton are the only starters left familiar with that defense. It's going to be ugly but they can steal this game 20 to 17. The incentives to get the W against the Broncos: -Make it a 'great day, great day' in Houston. -Keeps hope alive - For the next four games the pass protection can breathe and not go into full panic mode. Jaguars, just don't get stubborn and leave your rookie in an Island. You'll be able to move the ball. Titans, Simmons and the bad hammy. You'll be able to move the ball. Bills, you could slash through them with a ground attack before U of H's legendary fatty went down. Pick Milano out of the play and you'll have success moving the ball all over the place, P/A galore Colts, Familiarity betweens teams will allow you to move the ball. Punching it in for touchdowns instead of FGs that's another topic.
Bo Nix can be shut down. The Giants did it for 3 quarters. Our defense needs to hold them to 14 points or less, it's going to be very hard to score on the Broncos.
Feels like any more losses and there’s no playoff hope. One game at a time fellas, just keep winning.
Yeah this team really needs to approach every game as if it's a playoff game, for the rest of the season.
Honestly, I think it's going to be a close game, but give us the edge. That is only if we don't play stupid, and make dumbass face mask penalties, or crap that give Denver second chances. We have a better defense. Their offense isn't much better than ours. I think it will come down to us playing for touchdowns in the red zone instead of settling for field goals. Denver is ranked way higher than us in red zone efficiency and it isn't even close. Play to win! Go Texans! I'm gonna say 20-17 Texans, but wouldn't be surprised if it was less.
The 3 field goals last week should have turned into TD`s..................we have to take advantage in the Red Zone, FG`s will not cut it this week, we need 7. Bo Nix is for real, but I like our D against anyone at home......they thrive with the home crowd, but Denver is dam good lose this game and were done
If CJ has a game similar to last week, against that defense even without Surtain, I would be extremely happy
