That the the guy who was on a minutes and games restrictions the last two years had more energy on the bench last year checks out to me - we are asking more of him this year in many ways but hey - it's only been two games. Certainly not enough time for any of us to say one way or another that something has fundamentally changed about his "energy" and then run with it to use that as proof to feed some larger "Tari is going to leave us" narrative.

....so much narrative, so much assumption - so little data to back it up.

I definitely did in game one, he was more selfish than he used to be, and it actually exacerbated his boneheadedness rather than made him look like he deserved a big payday.

    And it’s better spacing
If u want to still play big start I’d prefer KD Sengun Jabari Amen Jeff Green

I agree with your characterization of Tari's game, the highs and the lows. But he did seem off in these past two games, not as zealous and not as alert on the court. Just a subjective impression.

The guy has always been an emotional player. He’ll get over his disappointment and get back his mojo.

Elite 3PT shooter after one half. Yeah, it’s silly to draw conclusions from such a small sample -- just like making strong conclusions after only two games. :p

In his rookie year, Tari Eason was an elite offensive rebounder and extra-possession machine, with a very high steal and disruption rate.

This game illustrates why Tari Eason believes he deserves a good contract. He typically makes a positive impact when he enters the game.

Love to see that Tari got over his funk and is playing like he can. This is the Tari we like to see.

Looks like he clocked back in. Very happy with tonight’s performance. Please always be aggressive on a nightly basis and work for that contract.

Props to Tari for playing great tonight, but my point wasn’t based on a small sample size. He’s been underwhelming since the playoffs and hasn’t managed to stay healthy for two straight seasons, so my stance still holds. It’s up to him to prove he can stay on the court this year, if he does, that changes the conversation. Until then, I’m not throwing around the word “elite.” Homerism doesn’t affect how I evaluate players.
