This is an imagined scenario, not a present truth, but one that becomes chillingly plausible if the executive destroys all existing constitutional protections. In this not-too-distant future, the executive will unilaterally declare who is a drug addict, effectively nullifying all constitutional safeguards. The very people who accept this destruction of rights today will eventually see their own family members killed by the state under this designation. At that point, regret will be too late.
