Sure we do, he's just 6'2 with a 3'4 standing reach and shoots <30% from 3.

I like Ime's approach in this. I am pretty sure Reed will improve on defense under this coach.

It's his offense I'm somewhat concerned.

I, like everybody else, have very strong opinions about Reed Sheppard. I'm right and all of you who disagree are wrong. No question.

I just wish I could visit a game thread without having to read everybody turning it into a Reed Sheppard thread, rehashing the same arguments over and over.

Its Ok to disagree.

Good analysis on Reed and other Rockets from "Here comes!" Austin Rivers.

 

I think his game is more combo guard than point guard at this point. It is what it is, but with FVV out the Rockets are going to give Reed a shot of doing his best FVV impersonation and see if he can contribute to winning basketball.

 

I didn't mean that he will be better on defense than on offense.

His ticket to the NBA is his offense, more specifically his shooting. If he doesn't perform on that end, he won't be of much value on the floor and can lose minutes quickly. I figured they would have more patience with his defense, allowing him to improve gradually. And they can have schemes to hide his weakness there.

 

As I watch tonight, I have to wonder what people are looking at when they say Reed can't get past anyone.

He doesn't have a flashy handle, but he has no problem getting into the paint or to his jumper pretty much whenever he wants -- we've already seen it half a dozen times in tonight's game. Converting or making the best decision once he gets there is another story, but you expect that to come with experience and reps.

 

Reed had 20 mins and cost us the game. You act like Reed produces if he just gets the minutes.

Bro Reed missed every shot that wasnt a wide open 3.

Literally shot 3/12 and had the worst plus minus but Reedsters after the game "Man Reed can get any shot he wants!!!!"

Thats why there will never be an honest discourse about Reed because people will look at an absolute dogshit performance and say what a stud he is.
