I absolutely HATE sports betting it is a plague and should be banned

The problem is all the PROP betting is hard to enforce legally, it makes cheating by a player, so much easier....because it isn't just about who wins, it could be just turnovers.....and a player could have a few extra on purpose....from time to time and make someone a lot of money.....which might then be funneled to the player.

These prop apps are everywhere, Underdog is one.

They are fun, but not so much when fans are in the stands yelling at players.....they could legislate the amounts you can bet I guess - but Congress is busy sucking off a pedophile and not doing much to protect the populace.

I was in favor of legalized sports gambling a few years ago, but I haven’t seen any positives come out of it…it’s made sports worse IMO

 

Hard to blame others when you are helping run or promote the illegal gambling operations yourself. Looks like the mafia has been recruiting pro athletes to help promote their illegal gambling operations to wealthy friends and acquaintances for a cut of the profits. That was what happened with Gilbert Arenas.

 

Whats the over/under on arrests today? I checked BetMGM but they dont have the line up yet.

Correction - seems to be two separate and independent cases.

New York City Police Department sources told CBS News that the arrests are in relation to two federal criminal cases. One involves a sports betting ring involving former and current NBA players, including some who allegedly faked injuries. The other case involves illegal high-stakes poker games involving coaches and operated by organized crime figures. Thirty-one people are being charged in the second case, the NYPD sources said.

Rozier was arrested in connection with the first case, while Billups was arrested in the second one, the sources said.
