LOL who said anything about the 2024 draft not having any all stars? Are we just making up new goal posts? And the former is why you don't judge the result after 1 season and 1 second season game....
i can only judge the top of that draft and reed on how they were viewed by all nba teams. you're talking about a guy picked 38th, so even OKC didn't rank him highly with their first round pick and we were suppose to use our 3rd pick on him? buzelis was the 11th pick, if chicago had the 3rd pick they wouldn't have picked him.
This is my biggest gripe about the draft though. Buzelis was ranked #1 in the class for 2 years. In 2023, when they'd talk about the next draft it was the Buzelis draft. Then he has one bad year and he falls all the way to 11? Then a bunch of random guys have 1 good college year and fly up the boards. It should have always been Buzelis. We put too much stake into that 1 year leading up to the draft. Jabari is another example. He shoots like 42% from 3 his first year in college and he's 6'11 Klay Thompson. He hasn't shot that well before or since. I still like him but he was severely overrated from that 1 college season.
I didnt say we use the pick on Ajay Williams but clearly there are good players in the 2025 draft its not like they are all scrubs. Steph Castle picked 4 won ROY.
I think this was reeds biggest game in terms of competition. Atmosphere at a pro level it was also #1 by far. Let’s see if he can adapt.
You said there was no franchise player in the draft? Which draft in the past 20 yrs didnt have even 1 superstar? As a top 3 pick Reed def should have higher expectations than the 27th pick. The top 3 pick is more valuable than the 27th so why should you judge them the same? Even the money they make is different to reflect their status. People werent patient with both Jalen and Jabari not sure why things should be different with Reed Sheppard. For the record I said yes in this poll. Clearly I had high expectations from Cocaine Curry after everyone said he was a generational shooter. If I thought he would just be a role player backup pg no way should he have been the pick.
Castle didn't waste last year he is already up to speed, give Reed some time he will get there too. DD
He look decisive and comfortable out there. I'd like to see that spirit in Rockets jersey. Even when he gets comfortable at NBA level, I don't expect him to be anywhere near key player level this season. That sounds like copium injection to me.
