Someone made an interesting point - Sengun's 3s were perfect. As in, it wasn't like he rimmed a bunch in, or banked them. They swooshed with a perfect arch. That gives me hope that his 3 point shot isn't a fluke - he'll legitimately be a threat from deep. This, combined with his improvements in handling and playmaking, changes everything.
I am going to see how things go when both Amen and Sengün become shooters, and this is Year 1 for Sengün as a Shooter basically. EuroBasket is probably the School of Arts for him, and he should be attending it every other year.
The form and release were ridiculous too (in a good way), looked like a completely different player. Like if you go watch him shoot 3s from his rookie season it honestly doesn't look like the same guy.
Yeah, his 3s look just like those in practice videos. If you can shoot like you do in practice, you are good. Amen on the other hand...
Sengun hasn't been able to hit his one legged mid range jumper since he got injured, unfortunately. That shot was almost automatic.
I wonder if it was the injury or if coaching told him to go away from it. Either way he needs to add it back into his arsenal.
So you are on board with a passing big with excellent post play, decent ball handling, good defense, excellent rebounding, not selfish nor forces the game and can shoot 3s. So Sengun needed the profile of a perennial mvp candidate for you to get on board. meanwhile with kpj…
FFS - don't be that guy. I have always liked Alpi, I just didn't think he was a FRANCHISE PLAYER without a 3pt shot. Now that he has developed one, I am on board with him being a FRANCHISE level player. This is a great thing, he has reached that level.....none of that has anything to do with KPJ or anyone else, those are entirely different conversations, and I know you are smart enough to know the difference, at least I hope you are..... DD
It is two years in a row. Last year despite the injury he transformed his body and fixed his defense in the off season. This year he came back with a fixed shot. His progress in the off season is scary, I don’t know what he’ll do next year: ball handling maybe? Lob threat, lol.
No it isn't I talk about him in what he is......and he has BECOME more - what is wrong with that? Judging by your name, you clearly are a MASSIVE fan of his, I am one, but more as a Rocket's player than the individual - I am very happy he has become a player that will be in MVP conversations, and that he overcame this very ORGANIZATION not believing in him, kudos for him. Players change, having a GROWTH mindset allows you to comment on where they are then, and now, and realize they are both different places. Alpi has made a major leap, why do you feel the need to say "Told ya so" are you that mentally weak in your convictions? Just enjoy the ride.....here, let me help you out.... You were RIGHT !!!! And, I was WRONG about him not getting there. Now, let's all go enjoy the Rockets seasons together. DD
KD looked a bit slow, he's coming off an ankle injury. Will he slow down considerably because of his age, is the real question? Amen needs to make at least a couple of 3's per game and Tari too.
