Agreed, but Maye is playing well.

Why does this have to be an either or proposition?

    Watched the game Objectively.

Stroud did not play like he did against the Ravens and Titans.

He was looking for the deep ball too much once again. Once he got hit a few times. Started locking on first options. It doesn't help this offense isn't scheming well at all but he needs to grow out of it quickly.

Bad game by him. I can't put it all on Caley because there were plays to be made.

I hope we don't have our version of Jared Goff.

You wouldn’t take CJ being Jared Goff?

He is capable of so much more but of course.

Also, to have a good Jerod Goff you need a really good team/coaching staff to allow him to play QB.

I don't think CJ needs that. He just needs mid competence around him.

I did not like how he was locking in to guys and drifting back at times. Dude was anxious.

I agree with you. But a lot can be put on Caley.
We have to scheme easier plays, shorter concepts and quicker reads imo.
Not enough slants, too many intermediate routes.

I think Goff gets a lot of undeserved hate.
He has been good far more often than not. Similar to Dak.
Now, do I want that in my QB? No, but if the option is worse then I would have to rethink it

That's what I find weird....when Tom Brady was with the Patriots, didnt he like to do short quick read passes? I always remember the Patriots offense just grinding you down with their short or intermediate plays, then occasionally throws it deep. I could've remembered wrong. Ofc this was without Moss. For second there against the Ravens, thats what I saw CJ doing

    This.
It's so frustrating to watch a team that doesn't help their franchise QB. Teams have taken away what CJ does best and there's no adjustment.
CJ will never be Tom Brady/Peyton Manning. He's a system QB that that needs great coaching to shine.

Does Stroud have some blame in the offensive performance? Sure. However, EVERYTHING IS TIED TO THE OFFENSIVE LINE. Caserio is not properly addressing the LG/Center position. I think Ingram and Howard are fine. The LT is a rookie and is going to have his growing pains. However, having a VETERAN Left Guard who CAN PLAY and a CENTER who is a LEADER would have done WONDERS for this line. That is on the GM. Also, a veteran OC would have been able to scheme around these issues to some extent. Caley looked LOST looking at that Surface on the sideline. Bewilderment was obvious. The LACK of the run game is directly hurting the pass game. You can't scheme of 3 - 1 yard to go plays? Not having Mixon is huge, though.

You are talking about the TWO GREATEST QBs in the HISTORY of the NFL. At worst, 2 of the top 4. Manning had his issues in his first 3 years. It is ALWAYS about coaching and scheme, even for Brady.
