That isn't accurate. Everyone has some inherent bias, but that doesn't mean they aren't independent. Their bias may interfere with their independence or it might not. They also may possess no opinion on what they are reporting at any given time. That becomes difficult if asked to analyze or dig deeper into an event. And on the flip side, you may not be independent, but still capable of giving unbiased opinions. It is just going to be viewed less reliably, unless that opinion is in contrast to the assumed bias due to your lack of independence.
I can’t figure out if it is an intentional lie to frame the issue or if it is brain rot from doom scrolling right wing talking points…. but I have not met a single person that supports Palestinian statehood that likes or supports Hamas. Roughly half the people I know or more are against the apartheid in Israel and the territories and none of them like Hamas. Humans are capable of disliking more than one thing, and can have nuanced opinions on topics.
It has just become a **** show of doom scrolling where ungodly biased sources (often not even professionals) offer biased at best and often complete lies that provide dopamine hits and after awhile these people don’t even realize they have been trained to hold an opinion and not question it. Consider that two of the most popular sources were actually paid by the Kremlin to make Russian centric media on the down low and release it to their audience. Not only did Poole and Johnson survive, their audience did not care they were being manipulated. The excuse is all media is biased - to justify our right lies being passed as truths.
