He was driven to score, not to play defense - which is what Ime wanted.

Ime was a mediocre player, he had to make his mark by playing defense, he was never even an average offensive player.

He overvalues that end, and undervalues offense which is why it took him so long to embrace a budding star in Alpi.....

Ime needs to grow or he will cost this team getting the most out of it...IMHO.

Maybe he is just a 6th Man which isn't bad in the NBA....think of Jamal and Sweet Lou.

Neither Jalen Green nor Tari has effectively played the 6th man role over multiple seasons.

Cam dropped 16/5/1 in 19 minutes, but something I've been noticing recently is how awful NBA stat-keepers are.

I was watching Tre Johnson's debut highlights and I saw obvious 2-3 Whitmore assists that weren't even counted. I feel like anytime I go back and check the play-by-play, it's insane how much inaccurate stat tracking there is, regardless of player (though it's clear some guys benefit from it, and others get screwed).

Yup. Start at 0:20, where it's 100% an assist, and the next 3 made by Tre is too - neither was counted as an assist.

This happens every game I go back and check, but it's always biased against the road team's players. And a young guy like Cam who has a bad rep is going to be especially screwed.

DD, Cam had the worst attitude in any player that I have seen in over 3 decades. Tons of talent, but a shitty body language. Difficult to fix that. I too wanted him to succeed here.

 

Kind of wonder if the Wizards can move CJ McCullum sooner than later and maybe give Cam a shot to see what happens if he’s featured.

Oddly enough I’m intrigued with the idea of seeing if CJ could slide over and play point for us if a trade could be made without giving up core pieces.
