He just needs an average line. Some of this is on him for sure but that OLine is atrocious.

The line has graded out as average on the season.
    Don’t ask me how.

The Texans have hired first time head coaches, offensive coordinators, defensive coordinators and GM pretty consistently after their first team with Capers and Casserly. One of their best defenses was under Wade Phillips. Most of the time, they go with rookies at these key positions.
Experience matters, but they don't see it that way.

Alright I’ve had enough. I love the Texans and I look forward to watching football every week, that’s not gonna change. But this coaching staff ain’t it. Demeco isn’t going anywhere, but we’re not gonna win with him, nothing significant. Too many really low IQ decisions from top to bottom. Caley is in over his head. Demeco is too stubborn defensively. Clock and game management is consistently poor. The toxic positivity. I’ve had enough.

I still have hope that we’ll turn the season around coming home and get back to .500, but even if we do I know in my heart of hearts this team isn’t going anywhere.

The team is also so poorly constructed. The defense is pretty soft, it’s a wide 9 small d line and pass coverage defense meant to play with the lead, but the offense isn’t built or schemed to give us the lead.

as I type yet another milk toast defensive play call on 3rd and long and we let a rb flat pass go for 13 yards. Seattle bailing us out with a punt.

Just really disappointing yet again to be a Texans fan.

they’d probably be more likely to see if they could get the play in faster and not line up with 10 seconds on the play clock

It was rhetorical, WAJ on a TE or RB? Sure... on a top level WR? No, TY

CJ is rapidly turning into the next David Carr, demoralizing offensive line play destroy you mentally.

What really stings is that one of the analysts (Riddick) was the choice of the search committee for Texans GM. Cal and Jack overruled their recommendation and went with Caserio.

Kubiak had legit experience both in calling games… and knowing how to build up an o-line (he also brought in plenty of coaches with experience… and gave young coaches a chance).

Demeco is doing similar work on his side of the ball.

But much like those Kubiak teams threw stopgaps at the defensive side till they were forced to bring in Wade… the current team is doing the exact same thing on the offensive side.

(Also, while Wade did turn around quite a bit… they also did happen to add a HOFer in his first season, JJ… unless it was Wade who suggested to pick JJ, then he deserves even more credit).
