Funny how robbed Memphis and Dallas Fans of their Money.

Also noticeable that Chandler Parsons still can't bend his knee while sitting down. He is straightening his legs.

79 games in 2 seasons - He needs to prove that he can endure a full season
But even when he becomes a free-agent, the Rockets can still match him
I think we'll know more on his health and availability around the trade deadline

I actually find it wild how quickly everybody's turned on the kid. I still hope he signs with us in the offseason, he's a great piece for our championship roster.

Can’t invest long term in a 24/25 year old who can’t stay healthy.

I would like to see how far apart they are in numbers, although this may be a moot point since Tari will be a RFA next year. Next year salary cap will go up by 7%, FVV will be an expiring and KD's 45M extension will kick in (lower than his 55M salary).

All of these mean it will be hard for other team to get Tari unless they massively overpay for him. And as much as I love Tari, there's nothing he does that stands out vs say Nikhil Alexander Walker, Christian Braun, Jaden Mcdaniels or Toumani Camara. He is very similar to those players and we know their value. I doubt any other teams offers him more than 25M.

I'd be disappointed if Stone didn't offer him 20M/year at the very end of negotiations. 15M would be a huge lowball and I wouldn't blame him for rejecting that.

Eason is great and I hope he stays with the Rockets, but being strategic here given our roster and aspirations is smart.

It's just being objective... I'm hoping he could just be available to play more consistently. I'm also hoping he's not a injury waiting to happen too. But... he's focusing on getting paid. I dont blame him for wanting more money.

And so the negative fan propaganda begins to match the org.

I understand both sides, but not getting the deal done is a bad move.

Take solace in the fact RFA doesn’t mean you have to match an offer … Capela was RFA in 2018, and he re-signed with us without a matching offer.

That assumes Tari actually wants to leave. Otherwise, why would Tari care about that.

I’m sure the first day of free agency, Stone will outline for Tari all the ways teams will try to construct contracts to hurt the Rockets with temporary apron issues, and Stone will spell out the higher raises and longer contracts the Bird team can use to beat any of them (in total amount), if he just signs outright with the Rockets, like Capela’s did in 2018 as an RFA.

If they want him and he wants to stay, it would take a contender promising a starting position with enough cap space for a front -loaded, descending contract to even get to the point of matching. Just doing a descending contract with same total salary won’t cut it. For instance, a descending contract lowers his next extension, right?

Its not that bad restricted free agency is a thing. Everybody is panicking saying he should be traded nah bro you only trade Tari if he becomes a cancer.

Its always better to have a deal done but I trust Rafael Stone. If they couldnt come to terms there must be a reason Stone is doing this. He is the same guy who has been more than generous to KPJ, FVV and Jalen so I find it hard to believe he would lowball Tari so much.

I cant belevie Tari just took a **** on his bird rights. As Paul Mooney would say " You bought to learn a n***a lesson". Most of the teams with Cap space are going to use their money on extending their own players. I don't think Rafel is the kind of GM to give more than what you can get on the open market if he does not have to. Tari could mess around and barely get an offer higher than qualifing offer like Grimes did this off season.

I hear you, but my faith in the front office has lowered a bit with some of the recent moves.

If we win a championship, which I would love, none of it matters but I'm not holding my breath honestly.

We'll see what happens, they should get this done.

Honestly, this might be good for us. Now Tari’s in a real contract year — he’s gotta play his ass off. No more load management if he’s healthy. If he stays healthy, he helps us make a real run. If not, and his body gives out again, his market value drops and we can bring him back cheaper. Either way, it’s not really a loss for us, tbh.

It kind of depends on what he wanted. I wanted him signed. But if he was pushing past his value and not accounting for his potential injury risk health issues, then it might be a bad move on his part also.
