Damn, I was really hoping we'd lock him up. I think he's the most likely candidate to actually go to a different team and become a star. More than Jalen or Cam by a long stretch.

No one is asking Tari to take a discount. Just agree to what is fair. Wish I knew what was being offered!!! Damnit!

Reminder that we can still match any deal in RFA. Remember how that went for every RFA this summer. You think teams are gonna hold out for a player of Tari's caliber/risk? Now we also have option to trade him at deadline and if we extended him it would have created challenges due to the poison pill provision. If FVV hadn't gotten hurt I bet he'd be back, but now there's an opening to trade clint/DFS+tari+picks for an impact rotation guard.

Agree. I’d rather trade him than have him come back on a Kuminga deal, but both are possible.

its disappointing but if he doesn't want to be here, then go.... eventually.
I probably think this come down to his role and minutes - he didn't want to sacrifice that and money. It has to be one or the other.

I felt the same way about Cam.
Love them as players but if they can't see the value in being part of a winning culture/team, and what sort of incentives that brings, then Bye.

If Tari gets traded mid-season, does his new team gets RFA rights? That would really enhance his trade value.

I am disappointed Tari and the Rockets seemingly couldn't come to an agreement, but I am not too surprised. With the way the team is constructed right now, Tari has very little chance to crack the starting rotation. I think Tari's definitely a starter level player for a number of teams in the league if he can stay healthy.

I think the Rockets will get good return if they trade Tari mid-season. I'd be okay with the Rockets trade Tari for a steady backup PG or shooter.

Tari + FVV for CJ McCollum? Though FVV would have to sign off on it since he has a NTC and I doubt he wants to go to the Wizards.

Im fine with trading Tari. Id rather they not have signed him than sign him to a bad deal.

Im also fine with just keeping him and letting him go to rfa. If some team wants to overpay him let them or tey to work out a sign and trade before he signs the offer sheet.

Tari should be hungry and have something to prove but hopefully he doesnt press too much.

Sad that Tari doesn't wanna be here. He prob would prefer to lose 50 games a year playing for the Wizards.

Who the hell was the source to Rocketswire/The Athletic that said a deal was highly likely to get done? From what I've seen from Shams and Iko, both sides were never close.

McCollum is washed and doesn't play defense. Aim higher and include picks to get someone like Derrick White or even Coby White.

If @Snow Villiers was starting the thread it would probable read something like this:

    “greedy cripple moma’s boy…yadayadayada…garbage…yadayadayada.”

Anybody that actually watched McCollum play more than twice with the Blazers knows he's the living, breathing definition of empty calories.
