During the preseason games you can definitely see that he worked on his finishing around the rim. That was a huge problem last year when he was blowing a ton of layups on fast breaks.

Everyone loves Tari, but I think he will only get an extension this year if he accepts 15 mil a year or less. Tari is not a starter and has some durability concerns. Also, it will be hard for Tari to put up the type of minutes and stats to get much more than that on a deal in restricted free agency. 15 mil a year would be top level 6th man salary.

    Comparable 6th men type players:

    | Rank | Player | 2025–26 Salary | 2024–25 GP | 2024–25 GS |
    |------|----------------------|----------------|------------|------------|
    | 1 | P.J. Washington | $14,152,174 | 78 | 10 |
    | 2 | Kelly Olynyk | $13,445,122 | 75 | 12 |
    | 3 | Jarred Vanderbilt | $11,571,429 | 68 | 8 |
    | 4 | Maxi Kleber | $11,000,000 | 70 | 6 |
    | 5 | Derrick Jones Jr. | $10,000,000 | 66 | 5 |
    | 6 | Royce O'Neale | $10,125,000 | 74 | 16 |
    | 7 | Naz Reid | $9,900,000 | 74 | 27 |

I think4 years 60 mil is good for team and Tari. Tari may be behind DFS, Adams, and even Capela in minutes so it would be hard to pay Tari more than them. I think if Tari wants more, he may have to prove it this season.

I thought Tari was already much improved at the rim last season. He shot a career high 68% at the rim which was much higher than his prior two years. His 3pt percentage actually went down, but his efficiency still took a big leap as a result of that improved finishing.

I heard it was basically at the 1-yard line, but Tari’s mom got into it with Stone about wanting to be more involved with the team, so now it’s been pushed back to the 20.

If you look at what all his peers are getting paid and look at their numbers compared to Tari, you'd realize 15M/year (which is what Stone is offering him) is more than fair. Keegan Murray's contract is an outlier and a result of another terrible decision by a bad franchise.

I don't think it's fair for Tari to put the team into the 1st apron just because he isn't a team player when it comes to contracts. Quite literally everyone else on the team is already taking a discount, if the deal doesn't get done by 5pm today, it'll be clear Tari's future probably isn't with us. It's not like Stone is trying to screw him over either. It's just in these new era of the CBA, every dollar counts when it comes to building a winning roster and our competition, OKC is already way ahead of us since they are just as young and have the league MVP on top of having much more draft capital than us.

I like Tari but I'd be looking to trade him for a some guard help instead of giving him 25 mil season to play 35 games a season

These are players you listed are nothing like Tari. He also has a lot lore potential than any of them as he’s still young and is developing. His scoring ability is well beyond any of those guys you listed. Except Naz Reid who got paid 5 years/125 million this year. The only way he takes 15 mil a year is if his medical report comes back bad.

Tari probably excited what that Camara guy got in Portland. He’s probably pushing for the same.

Crazy how Jaylin is so much taller, yet his hips are a good two inches below Jalen's. The latter is like 70% legs.

Braun doesn’t miss games and shot almost 40% from 3. He’s also a starter. Same with Camara. Doesn’t miss games, shot 37% and was all defense. These are not Tari comps. Tari hasn’t achieved that. There has to be a penalty for missing as much time as he has and the below average shooting. $18 per is fair.
