The season before last, it was the Eason injury that derailed what looked like an elite team and promising season. Tari is such an integral part of the team, that his tenacity has become a sort of identity for the team.

 

Huge downside risk ...hope the deal reflects it.

This is a truly amazing outcome. OFC there is risk but the bottom line number reflects that already. The whole thing speaks to (1) Durant's character and personal investment in team success; (2) how appealing the rox are as an organization; (3) the strength of the FO. I just have a hard time understanding how one could have negative feelings about this deal/number. Even the optimistic scenarios I was seeing before were 2/100.

This also likely means they were able to find numbers that allows us to sign Amen to the max as well. Looks like Rockets are contenders now and set up in the future with a legit core

I think Tari will get the 20M/year that he desperately wants but it will have to come with a lot of team flexibility in case he becomes extremely injury prone.

However, I think Stone will negotiate with Amen to get him down to under the max. I wouldn't be surprised if he did because like Sengun, Amen strikes me as someone who will give the team flexibility so we have a better chance at winning.

Eason is an elite Swiss Army knife. If he can get the 3 pt percentage up to 36/37% on 3-4 attempts a game he will be an underrated contract pending health. I still think he needs to work on his offensive IQ, but man he’s just a winning basketball player.

 

When can he be traded after he signs?

 

Has there been any update on that? Is he for sure not playing B2Bs this season or is that no longer an issue?

 

I hope we do have money for a full level mid exception just in case to fill roster needs

 

Udoka said "maybe" not playing both games of a B2B "early" in the season. Some have taken this to mean the Grim.

 

No way to know, primarily bc the first b2b isn’t until Dec 6th, which is 20 games into the season.
