I have to agree with cmoak that Reed has the defensive potential. He went from HS to a year at Kentucky, and now he's playing against grown men. I see a world in which he becomes a terror on D.
There's optimism and there's stupidity. I appreciate your optimism with our new point guard. The comparison though is with FVV who has been an elite defensive point guard. Reed won't be able to achieve that level defensively. Reed may someday become a better overall PG than FVV but it will be because of superior shot-making and playmaking on offense. It won't be because of defense. Part of the argument is simply that FVV's contributions have been criminally underrated on this board. It's insane how many people would defend Jalen Green and how few would defend FVV. FVV is the single biggest reason we went from 22 to 41 wins a couple years ago. He's been a winning player for a long time. Reed has to prove something in real games before he deserves to even be compared to FVV. Especially defensively. Let's hope that Reed improves a lot this season and the Rockets win the championship. It won't be because Reed Sheppard dominates defensively.

Lavine’s max vert is 46 inches. Go look at his Lakers pre-draft workout. Your dumbass is cherry picking the combine because it fits your narrative. No one with eyes and a functioning brain believes Reed Sheppard has more hops than ****ing Zach Lavine.
