Don’t put words in my mouth.
I never said I wanted Levis at 2, I was always clear that I thought he had better upside.
Levis had some good games and has looked better than the number 1 pick in the same situation.
I said I would take Anderson and wait for Williams or Maye.
Maye was better than CJ last year by passer rating in one of the worst situations imaginable. And has a new OC this year.
I get it, yall don’t watch football outside of local teams and don’t have a ton of sports knowledge or objectivity.

It wasn’t gloating that brought it up. It’s the fact that others have brought Maye/Levis/AR up in this thread to taunt me, but you and others are radio silence.
So on top of not knowing anything about sports, you’re also a hypocrite.

He’s the definition of rose colored glasses. He has to dig deep to support his claims.
Dude actually thinks Pats have a better situation than the Texans. The team many predicted to be among the best teams in the league.

I dont think anybody's gloating. We all want to see CJ regain his rookie form. It's just that Maye/Daniels are better QB's at this point in their careers. Hopefully CJ can regain his rookie magic and become as good as Maye/Daniels.

Oh, make no mistake the McNair's have been the issue since the franchises inception. But he they've made billions off of the con they own called the Houston Texans.

He will probably have a better 2nd season than CJ will have a 3rd season with both of them running the same offense with less weapons to work with. I guess Maye isn't having the sophomore slump CJ had. BTW, the Texans OL is rated in the middle of the pack this season, so that's not an issue this year like it was last year.

Not really, Nothwestern/Indiana (At that time/ Purdue/Illinois etc... weren't good teams.

    Bottom line

Maye is beating up on bad defenses. Has less career passing attempts now than CJ had his whole rookie season, and his stats aren't even that much better than CJs.

Maye might become better, but he hasn't proven jack yet

CJ has only had one good game-against the worst defense in the league.
Outside of that, it’s been about the same level of competition in pass defense.
Even Jacksonville is middle of the road in passing defense

Ultimately, CJ needs to build on the last game. Hopefully it was a confidence boost for him and the WR room.
Seattle is a good test, San Fran is hurting so hopefully we can take care of them as well.

Man you guys are crazy going back and forth about it. Maye has been great so far this season, no matter what team he's faced (no need to downplay it); but that's not a mean to downgrade or disparage CJ's own ability...the last two games have been promising as-fck, and I'm happy how they've gone. I hope it continues. Drake's performance has nothing to do with how CJ is performing.

    Last game and a quarter*

People were ready for a mutiny the first part of that Titans game.

But yes, CJ has shown he can be really good. He set the standard and he and Demeco have said he hasn’t played to that standard recently-at least up until the last game and a quarter

    Drake Maye thru 5 games
    1261 Passing Yds, 7 TDs, 2 INT
    CJ Stroud thru 5 games
    1076 Passing Yds, 8 TDs, 3 INT

    Competition:
Maye has played Raiders, Steelers, Panthers, Bills, Dolphins
CJ has played the Jags, Rams, Bucs, Ravens, Titans

Yes they are similar, and CJ has played tougher competition...

You can look at every single statistic per game and see they aren’t remotely close.
And sorry, the Texans haven’t played stronger competition.
CJ had 4 TDs against the worst defense in the league.
Bills have better pass defense than any team we have faced by yards per game.
Carolina, Vegas and Dolphins allow less yards passing than Bucs and Jax-who allows the second most in the league.

Competition doesn’t matter. It doesn’t fit their narrative. Tape doesn’t matter either because well it also doesn’t. There’s no logic on one side. I used to torch Bobby The Great and Cmoak time and time again on here when they either said Watson was trash or Will Levis is “the one.”

I have to ask.. is this a white or black thing? Only because at this point we just ignore facts and push weird agendas on a thread about CJ Stroud.

Are you holding out hope that the teams are going to 1v1 trade swap QB’s. It really is wasted energy and these guys will keep looking like buffoons and coming back as soon as CJ has a poor game. Toxic

Stroud magically had two fantastic games and it was crickets. Their agenda is so strong they don’t even like when he plays well. Again.. why are you still a Texans fan at this point?

    You’re just flat out wrong.

I’ve already proven the falsehood in competition.
Also, Maye has higher pressure rate, more hurries, more sacks, more hits, a better turnover worthy throw percentage and pretty much every metric in favor.

Baltimore game inflated numbers for CJ, great that’s nice and all. But he hasn’t played a single elite pass defense besides LA.

And no, you have never torched me lol. You lie to fit your narrative you clown.
You aren’t smart enough to torch me.

And only simple minded idiots think color of skin has anything to do with objective criticism.
The only QB I wanted to even consider at 2 was Bryce.
I wanted Levis AND AR over CJ because of upside.
But yeah, it’s because CJ is black. Keep playing the race card and victim card you absolute clown.

Vegas and Miami are not good examples to use, they’re both highly dysfunctional right now. Miami is approaching Easterbunny levels of incompetence and Vegas is just a mess(pats lost btw), Carolina’s defense isn’t a behemoth either, but they have a decent secondary.

And while the Pats have played the Steelers(loss), and the Bills, they’re not playing world beaters, but they’ve got some tougher games coming up, especially the Bucs in Tampa. They play the Titans this week, which I fully expect to be a blowout

Vegas and Miami pass defense is better than any team we have played outside of LA though.
    That was the point
