They gave us Clubbing babyseals Drexler and Ime Udoka, Portland native.....forgave them for their daggers.
I am looking forward to Amen taking another leap this year and becoming “untouchable” - to the point where the Giannis talk goes away. I predict 18/8/7 this year for Amen. If the Rockets are 1 or 2 seed at all star break, this couls be Amen’s first all-star appearance.
Amen becomes a superstar this season. Will be All-NBA Defensive again, easily. I can see him putting up near triple double numbers. With Durant scoring and creating, as long as he's hitting his shots, he'll score near 20 ppg, have 7-8 apg, and 8-9 rpg.
I got called crazy for saying Amen is the pg. I was proven right 21/5/3 9/9 fts 2/3 from 3 what more do you want? He is the 1 and should be our starting 1.
It was in 24 mins and his expected assists were much higher. I counted at least 3 wide open 3’s he created that were all bricked. Anybody watching Amen late last year and in the preseason that still believes he should be off-ball is an idiot. Call him point forward or shooting guard if it makes you feel better, but as @3PO said he is our alpha and will lead our offense this year.
lol who said anything about offball? Was Michael Jordan offball? Is Giannis? I just think it’s silly to insist he’s a “PG” when he’s not operating as a traditional PG.
The whole PG discussion is getting really old. It is all about who is creating offense for this team. So far it is Amen and Sengun. I expect that to be the predominant initiators going forward. If Reed is a third initiator that’s great. Rockets more than any other team personify positionless basketball.
I agree with this, but this particular incident was no big deal. If the NBA suspends him it would be infuriating with the stuff they let Draymond and others get away with. NBA teams are going to bait him with dirty players like Alvarez.
Via the Bill Simmon's NBA Player Rankings: https://nbarankings.theringer.com/ Existential question: Can Thompson—all of 22 years old with just 65 career starts under his belt—help carry Houston to the mountaintop, particularly with Fred VanVleet out for the season? Despite not having an outside jumper to speak of, Thompson has stunning speed, force, and aerial gymnastics that make him tough to cover when he’s in attack mode—whether dancing with a live dribble, crashing the offensive glass, or ducking in from the corner to finish a lob. He can set a ball screen and make plays out of open space, grab a defensive rebound and push it the length of the floor, and back down smaller defenders on the block. Thompson can have a positive impact in double-big lineups, but the Rockets are hoping a genuine star will emerge when he’s on the court with Kevin Durant and a few other capable outside shooters, who will finally give him the space he didn’t have in his first two seasons. Defining skill: Um, defense. There’s no dribbling around Amen. There’s no beating him to a spot, rising up to cleanly release a jumper over his outstretched fingertips, or shaking loose from his pursuit off a screen. He is blocking your shot. He is drawing a charge. He is Saran-wrapping your soul from the opening tip through the final buzzer. In just his second season, Thompson cracked an All-Defensive team and finished fifth in Defensive Player of the Year voting. If he maintains his level of play on that end while handling more responsibility with the ball in his hands, the Rockets may have another All-Star on their roster. What does it say about you if you wear this player’s jersey? Congratulations, you know ball.
Nobody is gonna stop Draymond. The refs have given him a free hand. Amen is a young player, he will get in trouble.
