Come on, man. It's time to get real. Both those teams have dogs. The astros don't. Not to mention Toronto who just blew out the yankees. And that is just in the american league.

The astros have one dh star. And one star starting picture and closer. if the astros are above .500 next year I'll be surprised.

Let me break it down like this: the astros don't have George Springer, Kyle Tucker, Alex Bregman, Justin Verlander, Michael Brantley, a good Lance Mccullers, Jr, Yuli Gurriel, Dallas Keuchel, and after this year, Framber Valdez.

Come on, man: it is time to see the writing on the wall. Nor do we really have prime Correa. This team was lucky this year to win what it did. Next year it's going to be bad.

Cubs started it, Brewers kept going with it

The “L” and “W” flags had humble beginnings in the late 1930s as a way to inform evening “L” commuters passing by Wrigley Field about the result of that day’s game.

For the record, the Cubs still fly the “L” flag after losses at Wrigley Field

How much do you want to bet? I’ll take above .500

Also, this is the second time you’ve called pitchers a “picture”. The first time I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt that it’s just a typo, but now twice in addition to your takes on these posts, I’m starting to think you might just be a bit slow.

This is completely backward. They were the unluckiest team in baseball this year (and one of the most in history), and still finished tied for the playoffs. Next year will be fine.

Common mistake. Or: I don't care.

I thought about creating a thread asking you guys what players are you most excited about coming back next year?

Most of you all want to have the manager have a talk with Jose altuve to let him know that he can't play more than 140 games.

I'll also mention the fact that even with Yordan Alvarez the Astros were still losing.

Other than cam Smith, there's nobody in the Astros farm system that is in the top 100 prospects in Major League baseball I don't believe.
The Astros are about to lose framber Valdez.

During the last part of the year Hunter Brown was giving up a lot of runs as well.

The Astros are 3 years from world series win. We no longer have the dog we used to. I mean at some point man you got to face reality. The Astros did not want to pay their players and that's fine if you don't want to pay them but then don't act like you can just replace them with anybody and still get to the world series. It's not going to happen.

    TBD....

We have so many injuries that will carry over to next season and many that could.

We still don't know the deal with Hader until he picks up a ball and tries to throw. If he needs capsule surgery he will be out next year and will likely never be the dominant closer he was because most people lose velocity after that surgery.

We know the deal with TJ surgery recovery in this organization... it's a crap shoot if Blanco, Wesneski, or Walter will even make it back and if they do make it back will they recover like Verlander, McCullers, or somewhere in between like Javier?

Paredes tore his hamstring so bad the Astros wanted him to have surgery. How confident are you that hamstring holds up for an entire MLB season?

Arrighetti has elbow inflammation.... we've seen this story before. It rarely ends without surgery. Framber was the exception. Same goes for Sousa with his "low grade" elbow flexor/pronator strain.

Who has confidence that Yordan won't have hand issues?

It could be fine.. or it could be a nightmare.

Ah. learn something new everyday. Thought maybe there was some bad blood.

"According to Brewers beat reporter Curt Hogg, a number of players passed around the flag, not wanting to pose with it, before Milwaukee pitcher Trevor Megill got hold of it and held it up with pride." guess he is a former cubbie.

should be interesting when they meet again next season lol.

“Common mistake. Or: I don't care.”

Except it’s not a common mistake. I’ve seen pitcher used a million times on here and only you have called them pictures - twice now.

“I thought about creating a thread asking you guys what players are you most excited about coming back next year?”

Brown, Blubaugh, and whoever we sign/trade for in the rotation. Peña, Paredes, Yordan, and Correa. Diaz hopefully rebounds. Hader, Abreu, Sousa, King, and Okert is a really good pen if they stay healthy. There’s a lot of talent on this team.

“During the last part of the year Hunter Brown was giving up a lot of runs as well.”

Yeah, this is how I know you don’t even watch. He had an ERA well below 3 the last two months of the season.

“The Astros are about to lose framber Valdez.”

Yeah, I think you have Brown and Framber confused - he was the one giving up tons of runs. I’m not saying he won’t be a loss but he was the reason we didn’t make the playoffs. We lost every Framber start for two months down the stretch until his last start. Regardless, we will likely be getting a replacement for him.

He also had an over five era for all of July.

And again like I said the Astros have nobody. That's really they lost all their dogs pretty much. There's nobody left except for Yordan and pena.

We don't have one hitter that's as good as Michael Brantley was.

So they have nobody but they magically won 87 games while setting the record in MLB history for IL stints in a season?

And what does July have to do with down the stretch? Yeah, he was bad in July. He wasn’t bad down the stretch. He’s also going to finish third in the CY and just had a better season than Framber ever had. Once again, I’m not even sure you watch this team regularly.

10 year run ain't bad. Hard to replenish every year and have the youngin's hit more than they miss. We'll be back, just most likely need to spend now to get it done and hope drafting in the next few years pays off.

That’s one game. His last 7 games, which is the definition of “down the stretch”, his ERA was 2.34.

Our 10-year run was legendary but everything always comes to an end and it's the end and hope people understand it's the end.
