MLB frowns on news during the playoffs. I would expect Espada will be let go after the WS. Therefore I would suggest everyone put rvodumbass on ignore like I will after this post.

“I went around and talked to all the players and let them know they did their best, they fought hard and never gave up, just came up short.”

geesh Joe, I’m sure they had no idea. The story with his daughter seemed a bit of odd placement but whatever. He’s in a place with the org he’s not been in before so maybe just nerves.

Disappointed. Espada was saved by the ridiculous amount of injuries but not excited he is given another chance to manage this team. All you can do is hope for the best and hope for better health next year and see where that gets us under this continued leadership.

I think Crane is crazy enough to still go after Hinch

Hinch please come home. Yes he took Skubal out early. Yes he’ll be killed for that.

However, going from Espada to Hinch is like going from a Corolla to a Lamborghini.

    Do it please

Shildt "retired" from the Padres today. I've been thirsty for him since before we hired Espada. There are options out there that would be an upgrade over Espada that weren't available at the start of the offseason.

Not sure anyone has done less with more than Shildt.

Hinch already cost us a Title by not bringing in Cole.
And, had a similar snafu with Skubal.
We don't need him screwing up with all the chips out there again.
    No thank you.

There was a better chance of Correa pitching in that game. Cole was one game away from his 300 million dollar deal. He dictated the rules and he was never coming in the game in the middle of an inning or if they were losing. Hinch should have just let Greinke finish the 7th inning. He had only given up a Crawford Box special and a walk to Soto aided by a horrible call by the HPU where he called a strike a ball. Soto did his shuffle after he got the benefit of that call.

    What would Bochy have done?

Bottom line is Hinch is who Hinch is and he cost his team again this year.

If Espada was let go, who would be your preferences for manager? Some of y'all want a Hinch reunion. There's 8 teams in need of one for this next cycle. Would an Astros manager vacancy be the "hot spot" for managerial candidates? Since Espada was a promotion after Dusty...I would think Crane would head a different direction and not promote from within i.e. Omar Lopez.

Hinch is a little conservative in the playoffs for sure.

Omar Lopez will be the next man up after Espada gets fired early next season after another slow Astros start. I'm already preparing for that scenario.
