I swear Bagwell is like Jekyll and Hyde when it comes how brilliant he is as far actual on the baseball diamond knowledge vs. front office or other baseball related tasks.

I would 100% be on board with Bagwell running anything when it comes to on the diamond (hitting, infield instructor, bench coach, hell...maybe even manager).

I remember he was the interim hitting coach a long time ago, and the result was pretty good. It seemed the players responded to him very well, he just wasn't interested in a permanent gig at that point in time.

Crane already has him on payroll making like $2M. I doubt he's going to be hitting coach fulltime but you always see him on the field during BP imparting his wisdom.

Will we have two hitting coaches again?

I don’t get what possible reason there could be to keep Espada

Holding out for a manager that isn’t currently available, but may be after next season , I don’t know.

Should've fired Espada and be done with it. We'll see next season.

I would hope they have someone specific in mind and not an open process.

Wonder if Correa/Altuve would lobby for Maldy. They all remain close.

Maldy straight to Manager?? I would want him to become bench manager first to get experience.

Also pray Bagwell doesn't campaign for Ausmus again lol

Strongly disagree with idea that the Astros players don’t work hard or want to improve. The Astros have some of the hardest workers in the league.

I'm sure they do and care, but like I have said, the approach for hitters has been abysmal for a few years now. The hitting coaches look better when they had 6-7 all world hitters in their prime.

I would not be opposed to bringing in Maldy as a coach (probably as the catching coach to start with)

Stephen Vogt essentially went straight to manager (had one year as the bullpen coach) and he’s one of the best in the game right now. What is he going to learn under Espada?

They really look like guys who feel they don't need to work and prepare pre game other than by doing same routines as they have done all their life. Mindless cage work might not do it even if it did earlier in career and in better overall team.

When you don't succeed in baseball it sometimes makes players look lifeless and even lazy so ofcourse I can't say 100,% they don't work hard. I can say it has not been working so nice they try something. Hoping guys are ready to work with new coaches.

It appears that working hard does not count if your team does not win.

Because we are like a 95ish-win team if we didn’t set a literal record for the most injuries ever in a season.

Are you saying the Astros need to hire Maldy to the coaching staff for game planning and coaching up the catchers?
