Maybe it was harsh take on Tucker but it's human to let personal taste to affect view of fan. It's cool to act on biggest success/moment crushing it like you been there b4. But being always like whatever and never showing on surface that you care about what people pay to watch and cheer just did't do it for me.

Cubs running the Caissie prospect (hitting almost 900ops over several seasons in minors) in RF and winning 3 from Brewers without Tucker might make their FO think again the resigning. Especially when they are pretty stingy compared to market and Heyward & Swanson signings both being pretty bad in hindsight.

Tucker goes to Yankees and hits 50bombs into short porch and Yankees finally come to senses and move Judge to 1st. Future when Stanton is done then Judge to DH.

In hindsight... with both coming into their contract year, should we have dealt Framber over Tucker...?

No...Astros needed Framber early in the season when he was good and hadn't mentally broken down yet. He helped the Astros won some games. Now tho...it's another story. He needs a break to mentally calm the fck down, go see four therapists at the same time or something.

No. Both or just Tucker. We got all we wanted from Tucker. The lack of overall quality in bigs & minors weighs heavily and having Tucker instead of the first half Framber this season does't put us in better place now and next season. We have some guys now with service time left.

Ofcourse just opinion. Impossible to calculate/guess what we would have gotten for Framber. Did't they listen offers and were not satisfied? I bet not as much as for Tucker if you would calculate starting point healthy Wesnevski, Paredes and Cam.

The whole Framber sit.makes me hope that BB was bit like hockey. Winning team, lot of veterans, still old school pecking order, guys giving pretty much everything for each other. There would be no 3rd period ice time for Framber on Panthers for hurting teammate possibly dangerous way. There would be some bruises or trade or both.

In BB we have this culture of individual sport in team sport. You put up WAR and you are fine. Being SOB to teammates sometimes just adds to legend.

I feel pretty confident that if Houston would’ve been offered a package like they got for Tucker for Framber, they would’ve traded him too. I don’t think the interest was nearly as strong.

Tucker’s playoff disappointment applies to fantasy baseball as well.

    Useless

If the Astros traded Framber who would have covered the 176 innings he’s pitched.

He’s a head case, but he’s still had the most innings pitched, third most WAR of any Astro, and was dominant for some significant stretches.

They would have had to have added another SP via trade or FA.

    Rather have Paredes over Tucker.

I remember in April when Cub fans thought Tuck was on his way to a 50+ homer season

We got a great package for Tucker. If Paredes and Wesneki would have been healthy, it would have been considered a rape.

Hopefully we can see the full benefit of the trade next season. Too many injuries skewed how good the trade could have been.

But I think Tucker missed a golden opportunity to cement his stake in a 400+ million dollar contract. As it stands I think he will be vying for something in the mid 250’s.

All of our pieces in the trade are coming back next year.
Let's see how Tuck looks in a Rays uniform next year

The Rays would never pay what Tucker will cost

Yep. He gives off that vibe for sure. Like he knows he’s good at hitting, but would rather be fishing or playing call of duty.

    who knows.
