It is against the law for anyone unlawfully present in the country to possess a gun, but according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Iowa, Roberts possessed four firearms. Department of Homeland Security Officials have alleged that during his arrest Friday by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, Roberts fled from officers, leaving a loaded gun in his vehicle. The Department of Homeland Security had said on Friday it was referring Roberts to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for investigation into how he obtained the gun found in his vehicle.
