Well they didnt expect FVV to get a season ending injury after he signed for 25M a year. FVV got injured after KD trade so their hands were tied at that point.

All our new 2 ways and vet min guy have potential IMO, the salary cap affected a lot of the marginal players so Rox were able to nab some guys who are good enough to see PT. Akogie is another one who is loke DFS lite but only for the vet min.

 

The Two Way Contract system did not exist that long.....

Like Lu Dort was a 2 Way .......Aaron Wiggins, Ajay Mitchell.

Other teams had more.

 

I think everyone except Okogie will see time at the PG spot. He just doesn't have the handles to play the 1. He will probably play with one of Reed / Holiday when Amen sits because otherwise, those two together are just too small defensively.

I don't know where JD fits in the rotation but I do believe he will get some minutes with so few guards on the roster.

Remember two way guys can only play in 45 games with the big club before having to be converted to actual NBA contracts.
IF he plays in that many games and they are forced to convert him, that would likely take up the cap space that's left under the 1A, meaning they couldn't add another player (without making another move).

 

You can't just cut Holiday. His contract is guaranteed. Cut him and it's dead money.

 

Lel, I think you can't take those comments seriously, Holiday is here for the season and maybe next ones as well.

They would not get rid of him because JD is playing well.....just like they should not reduce Reed's minutes because JD is playing well in a Preseason game that does not matter.

 

I couldn’t help but think of Cam Whitmore when he was on the court. Except, at least in this game, he looked better than I remember Cam ever looking. More in control and better defensively. If he keeps playing like this he’s going to deserve more time. My hope is we are going deeper to the bench because we are up by 20 with 5 minutes left in more games than not. Not realistic but a boy can hope.

 

He played well! I remember him when he played against the Coogs. He has a nice game; makes the right pass, especially in the pick and roll, can penetrate and he's athletic. He didn't have a good outside shot in college but he definitely improved that!

 

He definitely understands the game a lot better than Cam

 

If JD really shines and deserves to be converted, they probably won't need to add another player unless there's an enticing trade available. Whether they need another guard hinges on Reed's performance. They are banking on him being a key rotation piece. Now that FVV is down, he is even more important.

 

The 1st apron hard cap is the only thing standing in his way of getting Kelvin Cato'ed.
