I didn't necessarily see anything in the highlights that suggest Davison is going to help ease the sting of losing Fred. A lot of the scoring in those clips is just bad defensive effort - even g-leaguerers can hit wide open layups and floaters if uncontested. I realize Fred had an incredible story making it in the NBA but his story is super rare and would be even more astronomically rare for another Fred like story to come from his injury. The odds are significantly higher that the lotto PGs we just drafted in the last two years(Reed and Amen) are the successors of Fred as our long term PG and the odds are even higher that it's neither of those guys, but a guy not yet on our roster.
Highlight don’t do justice, he did play with the starting line up when Reed was on foul trouble and he was able to space the floor, be at the right places.
No reason to do that nor is there money under the 1A to do it (right now). They can convert him after he plays the 50 game max for a 2 way player and that keeps them under the 1A.
Solid game, just needs a 3 ball. Those are a dime a dozen. Let's hope we got the guy that improves his jumper.
Just needs a 3 ball ... checks notes ... if only JD Davidson could go 6-7 instead of 5-7, that kid would have a future in the NBA!!!
Its just ONE game but I thought he showed what he could bring against a good defensive team. He plays with poise, does not seemed rushed like Amen and Reed. His first instinct is to pass, which I think is important playing with players like KD, Jabari, DFS, Tari and Sengun. Loved his 3pt shooting. His defense looked avg at best last night and I think thats where he has to improve to get on the floor.
I still think he shot 22% last season, you know, because that's simply a fact. He had a good game, I think he should have all of Holiday's bench minutes if he can keep it up.
