Not escalate the situation? More people protesting peacefully would be nice - but ICE is looking for any excuse. If the people of Chicago respond with any form of violence - Trump will light up people.

Maybe the Governor could take a stand and get arrested, but he isn’t going to do that.

 

Clean up the city, remove the illegals who are refusing to obey the law and self-deport, provide additional resources to reduce the sky-high crime in the city. That's what Americans wants Trump to do. And that's what Trump WILL DO. And a purple-haired woman with a nose ring standing in the street and harassing ICE agents will not change the path forward.

Why isn’t JB Pritzker making a big deal out of it? He does all these press conferences and sends out all these tweets, but ultimately, he ain’t done sh*t.

Pritzker is a politician - and while he supports some policies that are to the left, he also in actual practice is quite moderate -- he just talks a good game in the media.

If you have followed him - he does a good job of communicating with the people in his state, but he also is cautious politically.

Pritzker has refused ICE access to certain facilities based on what the lawyers and experts and Springfield say he can do Constitutionally - but he does not cross that line, and some of that is that there is a real concern in Springfield that the situation can turn very violent very quickly. While Southern Illinois is basically Alabama -- Chicago isn't like that. If violence does break out, Chicagoans are more likely to respond with violence than other cities. So Pritzker is trying to walk the line of not making the situation worse and not looking completely impotent.

He is going to get criticized no matter what he does -

 

Yeah --- to all the people thinking "this ICE stuff isn't real" or "It is being exaggerated" .... it isn't. Berwyn is 25 minutes from my house. It is where one of my best friends live, I am there once a week.... this stuff IS this bad, and it isn't just in Berwyn, it isn't just in Brighton Park or Bridgeview.... this is across most of Chicago and in the suburbs of Chicago. They are driving up and down 3 minutes from my house, they all have masks on and are literally controlling the roads when they feel like it.... they are pulling anyone they want over.

This stuff isn't funny and it isn't some exaggeration.... it is happening and a lot of it isn't even reported because people are rightfully scared.
