I consider it highly unlikely that Espada or Brown will be fired, but other than those 2 any moves related to assistant coaches or other front office personnel probably won’t happen until after the World Series.
man, f-ck that guy. And manny trillo, and Steve Carlton. Larry bowa too. Tug McGraw can also kiss my ass.
MLBTR released their projected arbitration salaries. They tend to be very accurate Astros (16) Mauricio Dubon (5.162): $5.8MM Steven Okert (5.089): $2MM Luis Garcia (5.083): $2.2MM Ramon Urias (5.025): $4.4MM Bryan Abreu (5.022): $5.9MM Enyel De Los Santos (5.015): $2.1MM Chas McCormick (4.161): $3.4MM Isaac Paredes (4.160): $9.3MM Jesus Sanchez (4.118): $6.5MM Jake Meyers (4.044): $3.5MM Jeremy Pena (4.000): $7.9MM Hunter Brown (3.035): $5.7MM Yainer Diaz (3.035): $4.5MM Hayden Wesneski (2.170): $1.5MM Bennett Sousa (2.156): $1.1MM Taylor Trammell (2.144): $900K Garcia and McCormick will be non-tendered. Dubon, Urias, and Sanchez could be traded as mostly salary dumps. I thought De Los Santos’ contract allowed him to choose free agency but I guess not, he will probably be tendered. If they tender everyone except McCormick and Garcia, I have them $20M-$30M under the CBT threshold. Houston could really have significant money to play with if they trade Urias, Sanchez, and Walker.

Thanks for posting, quite the list of players who can be tendered. I know de los santos was good early on but I wonder if they'll try to sign two bullpen options in place of his salary. The salary projection for dubon is more reasonable than the 6-7 mil that been stated. Seems to make Urias expendable. I think they'll nontender Trammell.
I know I've heard mention of a left handed bat but I hope we shore up our pitching staffing first. The only position I could see us improving at is 2nd base but the only player who comes to mind is Polanco from Sea.
No way I would pay Jesus Sanchez (6.5 million) and I am not paying both Ramon Urias and Mauricio Dubon a combined $10.5 million. I can get a solid #3-4 starter for that amount in 2026 (granted it would likely have to be a 3 year deal). I will take Merrill Kelly at 3/45 over Jordan Montgomery on a 1 year deal for 10 million if the Astros pitching department is satisfied he is healthy.
