I did not personally like Portland. I did not like the weather and I did not like many of the people and some of the bizarre rules. Having said that - Trump going into Portland is a joke. The homicide rate is down 50% - violent crime is down 17% .... the city has had months this year without a homicide. Portland increased funding for crime prevention and services about 18 months ago and they have been very successful - the fastest falling crime rate in the country. In fact all of the cities that Trump has decided to flex his muscles in have seen crime rates in free fall before he came to town. This is all political theatre, and possibly conditioning people for or if he decides to declare martial law.

Yeah, the judge was NOT happy with the admin basically ignoring her 1st order. The admin tried to play cute and federalized the CA and TX National Guard to work around her initial ruling. She then issued a 2nd order prohibiting any state’s National Guard from being deployed to Oregon. This is nothing new. This admin will find loopholes or any possible way to bypass a judge’s order. Future judges should realize that when they issue an order against this admin, they should expect it to be violated in spirit through legal loopholes. The only way to prevent that is to preemptively close any obvious loopholes. Given the recent history of this admin consistently not acting in good faith, they shouldn’t give it the benefit of the doubt moving forward.
