Gruden - I don’t like Cjs body language. He needs to light a fire under his ass and go have fun. Everyone has excuses. If he loses this game, somethings wrong in Houston.
I find Stoerner's analysis from the qb's perspective to be spot on most of the time. But I couldn't get behind the Kirk take from yesterday, "I just watched the tape on Kirk and ooooooo boy. Texans need to look for a receiver in the trade market right now because he can't get open. And they obviously don't feel comfortable with the young bucks." Kirk got open all game vs the Jaguars. On the play where Nico fumbled, Kirk was open too. On the last play that should have been a TD if they decide to help the rook against a Josh Allen that ran circles around Tunsil (said it before that game too), Kirk got open. For me it's that the receivers, including Nico, are still adjusting to their more advanced route trees. When that's settled and the offensive line can semi-handle a well disguised blitz on 3rd and long, that's when the offense will be taking the next step. The threat of having a RB that can devastate defenses with his hands will only open up things more for the slot. Win tomorrow and the offense will have an extra 2 weeks to get on the same book, past the first page.
Nah they have won 9 and 8 games each of the last two seasons. That's with Gardner Minshew and Anthony Richardson at QB. They just need an improvement over that from Daniel Jones and they will win 10 games.
I just want CJ to throw with anticipation, accuracy, and confidence. Is that too much to ask for? I also would love to see Marks with at least 70% snap to see how he does with load. Lets not lose to Cooper Rush...someone will beed to get gone if they do.
It shouldn't be too much to ask, since he was capable of doing it consistently his rookie season, but he's been less and less able to do it as time has gone on. There's no excuse in losing this game, this should be 2 games in a row where CJ can shine...if he still has the ability to do so. I'm hoping the Texans and CJ can use these 2 weeks to "get right" similar to how college programs will sometimes schedule a joke of an opponent early on in the season as a sort of practice that counts and that it turns around their season.
Ordinarily I would agree with you but on Thursday night I saw a decimated 49er's team take down the Rams. That was some of the best coaching and strategic level of play I had ever seen. I have NEVER seen something like that from the Texans and to pin your hopes on their (Ravens) being injured is not a good strategy for the Texans. The Ravens are well aware of what they need to do and I expect them to come out and execute a completely different strategy on both offense and defense from what folks here expect especially on defense against our tinkertoy offensive line.
I have a question about the Texans. Does Derek Stingley follow the best wide receiver or does he specifically stick to one side? Trying to decide between flowers and McConkey for fantasy purposes. Not a text span, but I figured somebody here would know.
