@Surfguy still holding UNH? After swinging during the first dip and selling..I went back in at 283. Looks like it might close at the gap at 377.
Yea...I'm on a long track on that one but I've only got a total of 70 shares spread in a retirement account and broker account at the moment. I've got a little over $4k in unrealized gains from those 70.
If I were day trading, then I might buy this PLTR dip here and then it will probably recover somewhat by EOD to sell is my gut feeling candlesticks withholding. But, I just bought 10 @ $172 because today's dip seems overdone and that's the risk I'm willing to take on for this dip for a long play in brokerage acct. Edit: Palantir didn't recover much at all today. Oh well. But, it will. Oh yes...it will be. It will be.
The market feels like 2021. Random sht like quantum stocks pumping. This stuff ain't generating revenue and it won't for a long time. Position carefully into these....we can come back to these in a year to find them for pennies. I sold 3/4th of my shares in IONQ and QBTS. When I was into my penny stock phase, I used to look up the addresses for these companies. It's a dead giveaway when you find a shack for an "office".
Every time I touch PLTR somehow I fk it up lol. 300 shares @ 31. sold for a 7 after bagholding for a while. then picked up 500@32 again recently, and sold immediately lol. And watched it run up to 180. FKKKKKKKKK. would have been one of my best trades. also swung HOOD from 56 to 62 thinking hey nice trade. now HOODs at 150. So tempted to sell UNH but na let me stay patient with this.
i lucked out. my quantum stock was IBM, in early Aug, IBM @ just below 240. bought a bullish 35-point CALL spread, using Dec 19 exp buy to open 235 stike CALL sell to open 270 strike CALL, net cost $13.80 then this development catapaulted IBM, closing the gap HSBC breaks new ground in quantum-enabled algorithmic trading with IBM quantum computers exited this bullish CALL spread, last week, when IBM was at 282, collecting $28.05
Reminds me of when footage from SOS HQ (Chinese bit mining stock) leaked and it was outdoor servers in a chicken farm. Down 99% since.
True story...I just had a rather remarkable and lengthy chat with Copilot in the Edge browser. I broke down my entire financial situation and understandings of financial stuff from passive income generation to past performance to stocks to funds to tax strategies along with talks about future diversification, income, and growth strategies for my portfolio. After several back and forth replies and responses, I asked Copilot what rating it would give me on a scale of 1 - 100 rating me as a retail investor. I got a 98.
I personally have no problem holding RGTI. Like almost any stock, I didn't buy more than I can afford to lose. At this point I wish I would have bought more but I'm fine bagholding right now. I don't get how you can think to short this at this point. The risk of loss if far greater than the potential gain. You think you can time the market on this one with no bad news? We're no where close to expecting returns anytime soon. And as far as comparing it to any Chine scam companies... I don't trust anything from Chine. Got burned by PUDA pretty bad a few years ago. Huge energy company using cheap coal at a time when they didn't care about the environment and were climbing the ladder to a leader. What could go wrong? Welp CEO just walked out with all the company money and was never seen again. I mean SEC is a bit of a paper tiger but China has no one I trust watching the door over there. My spread is NVDA, GOOG, NFLX, AVGO, MSFT, META, CRWD, APH, PTLR, RGTI, a few others and cash (too much normally but I'm fine waiting for a dip or something new). My fav so far is my APH. I don't want AAPL, AMZM or TSLA. I know they can move but there are just things about them I don't like. I really don't get the hype on AVGO but you can't fight the movement even if you don't care for their products.
na, you won't catch me shorting this junk. or any stock for that matter. and puts are just way too expensive on these parabolic names.
today, MSFT closed, down 4.6, to 524. its next earnings release will be 10-29. my amateurish interpretation of the chart is that it will make a new high, > 555 on 10-29 want to participate in this bullish run up; decide to make a bullish options play going into the next earnings, using 1-16-26 expiration. buy to open 525 strike CALL sell to open 570 strike CALL, net cost of $17.95 for this 45-point bulllish CALL spread
Of these companies, which ones resemble the dot com bust?: Are the Cisco/Dell? (worst performing 5 years post dot com) Are the Microsoft/Amazon? (best performing 5 years post dot com)
