He couldn't even do that with his OWN team. What makes you think he was going to do it with the astros? Bochy's team was even better than the astros in terms of pitching. Hell, his team has the best run differential in the division. Why couldn't he win 90 games with the rangers? You think he was going to win 90 games with the astros? c'mon man.

if you really want to see how the astros' season should have ended, look no further than the braves.

Dealt with massive injuries, just like Houston. But he was admittedly ready to retire.

The offseason has been brutal on HOF/ish old managers with rings:

    Melvin (WS)
    Bochy (WS)
    Washington (WS as coach)
    Snitker (WS)
    anyone I'm forgetting so far?

The Stros had the better team

    This is pretty simple.

    HOF Manager > Journeyman manager.

So did the Astros in 1998, but Bochy's Padres proved that wrong.

based on what? stats? on paper? history record?

stats? because both teams are about the same on offense. pitching, rangers had the edge. fielding, both about the same.

head-to-head matchup, 7-6 astros. sure you can argue astros is better because they barely beat the rangers 1 more game than they did.

to believe that bochy was going to manage the 2025 astros to 90 wins is delusional. the emphasis on 2025.

funny for you to say journeyman manager when the astros is espada's 1st team in his managing career. i don't think you mean what "journeyman manager" means.

If I recall, the scheduling for that series had an extra off day after Game 1 allowing Kevin Brown to pitch games 1 and 3.

I seriously hate postseason baseball scheduling. If baseball wants to expand its fanbase, stop having daytime playoff games. This isn't the World Cup where everyone stops what they are doing for 90 minutes.

Wow we've found an Espada fan.

How about this, a multiple time WS winner, vs a guy that has interviewed with several different teams and failed to get a job.

Playoff baseball is different, because with MLB wacky scheduling Kevin Brown can start 3 times in a 5 game series.

Yep, and Gerry the Hun went ballistic about it. And naturally, Brown was not the same pitcher in the WS.

But, all the Stros had to do was beat Sterling F*****g Hitchcock to take the series to 5 games.

I was a freshman in college in 1999 and we had Ken Griffey baseball on N64 that we wore out. Getting an accurate 25 man roster with Randy Johnson on the Astros was a big chore with Joe trading worked on that game, but I managed it. Great memories. The Unit was amazing.

never got to play that one, but my buddy had the Mike piazza 64 game. It had home run derby on it. You could use Baggy on there. But the Kid was always the popular choice lol great memories indeed. Seems like eons ago now.

Any team dependent on Biggio and Bags in the postseason is destined for failure.

I had World Series Baseball '98 on Sega Saturn... Bagwell was overpowered in that game.

DD still wants Bagwell to learn to throw left handed
