Who put a curse on Baltimore? Orioles might be the most disappointing team in American League and the ravens are falling apart
No, I don't believe what Ryans is saying about his OL. Stroud didn't run Slowik out of town. Slowik ran himself out of town with his ability to make counters and adjust. It isn't a surprise though, because Slowik had never called plays before and wasn't qualified to be the OC. This just accentuates the problem. The Texans gave a rookie QB an OC that has never been an OC at the NFL level--- they then replaced that OC with another OC that has never been an NFL OC-- and they gutted a mediocre OL and didn't really have a plan to fix it. They have literally done everything possible to screw up Stroud. I have no idea what the future holds, but what I do know is that the organization has really screwed up their handling of their young QB, wasted his pre-extension years, and still - lacks a competent OC and lacks the quality of line needed. I wish I could say I am surprised, but I am not - this organization has really not been very good at these types of things.
Slowik went from a hot HC candidate because he forgot how to coach. Now in a different system Caley (Who McVay speaks highly of and has had several successful assistants leave to become OC's/HC's) sucks as an OC too. Ersery is learning on the job but has shown a lot of promise. Tomlinson has sucked, hopefully Scruggs is an upgrade. Andrews has been solid Ingram is PFF's #1 rated OG. Even if you dont believe in PFF grades (I dont) Ingram has been good. Howard is who he is an avg RT. The Texans really need a TE that can help in both blocking and has the speed to get down the seams. Marks appears to an upgrade in pass pro. With a beatup Ravens team the Texans should beat the Ravens and look good doing it.
If Lamar Jackson is playing, they could run 10 v. 11 and I wouldn’t be feeling cocky. We’ll see, I certainly feel better today than I did 2 days ago.
