We’ve had terrible first base play for 4 years now. I’m sure if this was a realistic option they would have explored it. There have been different people in the front office during that time too. Since the people who know more about baseball and Yordan’s skills than us haven’t considered it, that should let us know they really don’t think he could play the position well.
So long 2025 Astros. So much potential, yet so many setbacks. Hopefully we can stay healthy next year and pick up some additional arms.
LOL all the Espada haters in shambles if true. He's not great nor is he terrible. He's mid. Dana needs to go find a better hitting coach staff and medical staff. If not hitting staff then structure all of these guys' contract to better strikeouts, GiDP, homeruns, hitting with RiSP incentive.
They want someone who they can control. Espada fits that mold. Anyone else gonna butthead with the FO.
You sweep the Dodgers and come home to get swept by an Indians team that had lost 10 in a row. You get swept a 4 game series at home to the A’s. You sweep Texas at home, then get swept at home by Seattle, never leading in the series. That’s 10 home losses. Win half those games and they finish 92-70 and play on. Couldn’t do it. It’s their own fault.
The way I see it, Espada is most likely will be back. However, he's gonna be on an extremely short leash next season.
