I think I've found my new favorite way to watch this team. Start 2hrs late. To be able to fast forward all the wasted time in between plays and the miserable possessions. That first half was brutal. Like the rest of the season..... Glad they were able to get into the red zone and punch it in a few times in the second half.
They have to lean onto Woody next game and hope he continues to run and catch well. He's a dual threat RB that we've been needing.
Same, but I'll just pause it and go outside for a bit...come back and FF through commercials and b.s.
I just switched over to fox and it occurs to me I don’t believe the San Francisco 49ers have ever played the Jacksonville Jaguars before ever.
While the offensive numbers look nice at the end of the game, at one point they had 31 minutes in top and only 6 points. How is that even accidentally possible. Unless you're calling a coward brand of ball. Stroud is the same guy, when the line is comfortable, he is going to do what he's always done. Howevvah, the offensive line was only comfortable because the Oilers is one of the worst teams to disguise their blitzes. The only encouraging sign is the receivers, who were also in funk just lining up correctly. They adjusted their routes in time.( Nico long pass and the Higgins TD) I'm good with Speed playing more reps after Enrique, yet again, whiffed on a 3rd down scramble. Esiason still thinks Texans can make a push. I don't know.
Henry. To'o To'o. I haven't seen the snap count, but Speed played a lot after that one arm attempt of a tackle.
Pulling for the Ravens to beat the Chiefs here so they don't go into next week against us desperate with a 1-3 record.
Next week is the season. If they beat the Ravens it would at least show they are capable of beating good teams. going 2-3 into the bye week is far from impossible. Especially being 1-1 in the division. Lose to the Ravens, especially in convincing fashion, you can pretty much wrap it up.
Really, really solid overall performance. My thoughts: 1. It was pretty ugly on offense for awhile, but overall have to say there were a lot of positives. Everyone pointing out 6 points after three quarters. That's not good but 3 4th quarter touchdowns is pretty ****ing awesome. It is a 4 quarter game after all, not sure why everyone is only focusing on quarters 1-3. 2. I was actually pretty okay with the conservative-ish play calling early on. Once it became apparent that we could gash a few runs here and there (and once CJ starting getting crushed), we really needed to run the ball to stop the damn QB from getting hit. 3. The short passing game seemed fairly effective. I kinda wish we would have done it a bit more in the first half, and it seemed to open up a couple of the deep shots later in the game. 4. rOoKiEs dON't KNow AnyThiNg. Or maybe they do. Where the hell has Woody Marks been? That 3rd and 17 screen, just perfect execution by Woody. He let his blockers get in front and then made some people miss. Awesome stuff. The follow up touchdown run he showed some great wiggle. We really need to get him the ball going forward, especially in the passing game, he's a weapon - use him. 5. Defensively, it was a pretty vanilla but pretty smart gameplan. Tackling appeared to be better, still got gashed a few times on the run but this is a really really solid defense. Going forward if they stop getting gashed on gotta have it end of game situations, we should be in really good shape defensively. 6. Special teams has been jeckle and hyde this year, it's weird. Does Kaimi understand that line driving it right to the returner on kickoffs is NOT the correct strategy for getting it into the landing zone? He finally bounced one later on. I know it's kinda small change but it was driving me nuts. 7. The penalties were better. Got away with a couple, including a blatant hit to the face by Al-Shair, but it was a much cleaner game. 8. Those two missed FGs in the first half were so big. I know there are still plenty of reasons for negativity, but I'm choosing not to focus on that today. This team isn't ready to really compete yet on offense, but there is a pulse, and I'm hopeful the defense continues to get even better and will keep us in close games.
