Man, if they were playing for Joe`s job, they failed miserably. As soon as the season is over, he needs to go. This was a massive collapse, it's not all on Joe, but someone has to be held accountable

Not even sure whose out there, but we shall see

It’s gotdamn hilarious to me that these bigots thought Dusty was gonna wear out his bullpen and folks get injured when in fact he got them rest and it was ESPADA

I tend to think most professional athletes are incredibly self motivated even if their team is not in contention and poor performance is usually not a motivation issue.

That said this team had looked absolutely lifeless for large stretches to the point that broadcasters for the Astros and their opponents are calling it out.

Losing because of injuries is one thing. Not showing up is another and there is a lack of leadership somewhere.

I think very few professional athletes outright quit on their team or manager, they got to that level for a reason and have too much at stake to consciously quit.

But if there are chemistry issues or dislike for the manager, I think that drive to get them through tough stretches and overcome to get to the next level disappears. They obviously still want to perform well individually but the mental aspect of picking each other up and rallying is gone. I think that plus a combination of fatigue and missing talent has led to this collapse.

Shocked if they bring this guy back. Looks like the rangers quit on Bochy also.

How or why would you quit on Bruce Bochy?

Cause it takes him half a day to reach the mound from the dugout with his busted hip limp

never understood the love for bochy.

did he really do anything different or amazing in 2023? his entire lineup had career numbers. what are the chances of that happening?

He's most likely too old now, but the guy knew the basic fundamentals of baseball.

I'd like a younger version of him.

eta: I just learned he was born in France, making him the first and only Euro manager to win a WS
