Seems like the whole organization disagrees with you, but I'm sure you're more astute at basketball than the entire FO. If you think getting the ball past the half court line is what defines a pg, you are even less astute than the average jr. high basketball player. So silly. I don't care what you call them Amen and Reed will both be guards (you didn't say pg in your original post). Amen will be one of the main initiators in the half court offense and I predict will average more assists per game than FVV last year. If Reed is a starter he will probably be the main guy bringing up the ball and then handing it off to one of Amen, Sengun, or Durant. Occasionally, he may try to drive and dish, but so far has not shown the adequate ability to do so.

I think if they're smart then Reed backs up Amen and when it's Reed's minutes he's literally the guy bringing it up to dish to Sengun or KD and then get himself open. Like you say, with Amen the smart move's almost almost going to be getting him downhill and learning to make plays in all the various ways he'll need to as the PG of the future. As much as I do genuinely think Fred going down has lowered our chances, the blessing in disguise is Amen's likely getting the keys a year earlier than they planned (I think this year would've been the transition with Fred as the training wheels tbh) so it has to be all in now. We don't have the luxury of playing him in the dunker's spot whilst his shot comes along (thankfully the progress videos so far look awesome) with Fred gone it's the Amen and Alpi show. Even if Alpi gets to flexing his passing game, Amen in both transition and driving to the basket should be priority #1 now for the next step of team development.

Maybe, but it's a REALLY low bar. This past season, FVV was 190th in the league in TS% and his FG% was lower than every single qualified NBA player.

He was really, really bad....only Jalen and Dillon Brooks were anywhere near that bad among the players that actually got to play.

Jose Alvarado is basically a 1:1 swap-in for FVV who might even end up being better at this stage in their respective careers. If for some reason Amen/Reed don't work out playing lead guard (which I think they will, particularly Amen) I'd definitely try to trade for him. If Reed just busts out, which I do think is still unfortunately a possibility, but Amen excels, I'd still trade for Alvarado, but as a 6th man.

None of this can realistically happen for December 15th

Ok so you think that this team is going to win a championship as is and wont trade for starting PG by the deadline

Even I have enough faith in this dumbass franchise to not be that stupid. This "whole organization" is run by patrick fertitta and his lawyer btw. Their greatest accomplishment so far is being trash for half a decade and losing in the 1st round as the 2nd seed. Stop pretending as if they have any credibility
