Is FVV tradeable next year or will he still have that no trade clause?

Van Fleet doesn’t have an official no trade clause but his player option next season is an unofficial one. If the Rockets trade him to a location he doesn’t like, he can simply decline the PO and become an unrestricted free agent. That threat will require a handshake agreement to re-sign with the team that trades for him.

TLDR: The Rockets can trade Fred anywhere after 15 December. However, Fred can opt out of his current contract next year to become a UFA, complicating things.

You got that from his post?

sounds like he’s saying they carrying Fred’s load on both ends of the court will put more stress on other players and increase their injury risk.

True. But if his health is a big question, he probably won't want to opt out for fear that nobody would sign him to the same amount level.

This is wrong. He DOES have a full no trade clause unless he choses to waive it. The Rockets CAN NOT trade him anywhere at any point without his consent.

That’s not a guarantee. It only takes Fred and his team to believe that one bad team would.

No, he doesn’t have an official NTC. Fred had a trade restriction (until 15 Dec) and a player option that can basically function as an unofficial NTC. Only LeBron and Jaxson Hayes have true NTCs.

Semantics i suppose, FVV cannot be traded without his consent this season at any point, including at the trade deadline.

It's risky. Pretty sure Fred and his agent will assess the market before he decides whether to opt out or he may turn into Oladipo 2.0.

He can absolutely be traded after 15 December. Declining the player option would only affect next season. Most teams wouldn’t trade for a player like this, especially one coming off a serious injury.

Nope, he can't be traded this season without his permission. He has a NTC.

Tari holds the key to all of this

Ears have told me that he loves the Rockets but he loves a pay day even more.

As for Russ, yes, there has been mutual interest. Nothing is imminent, but with our mix of bets and youth, I can see Russ being a complementary piece . KD is for it. Amen is definitely for it, but it will take a financial sacrifice to bring either DMel or Russ along, except if it's mid season. I think we'll be okay with FVV, but he is the true leader on this team and Ime's guy.

I hope Reed is ready so become cocaine curry fo real.

With Tari getting super defensive on Twitter, he must be hearing a lot that has him rattled. It's usually just his mom going off about the naysayers.

You expect the guy that had surgery this afternoon to give a statement?

Gotta fight through the pain and the pain killers and say something divisive that will create a circus. It's the only way.
