Sure, I’ll say it. We are doing CJ no favors with the line he is being made to play behind — for 2 years in a row now.

He’s like 24 (or whatever, too lazy to look it up), it stands to reason he will improve.

 

Ikr. John Harris said he asked Duane Brown how long it took him to really get ‘it’ at LT and Brown said year four. Brown is still the best OL the Texans have drafted and developed.

 

CJ was sacked 52 last season and this is the line Caserio trotted out:

LT - Esery - 2nd round rookie
LG - Lake Tomlinson - 4th most QB pressures, 5th most QB hits, and 7th most sacks given up in 2024
C - Jake Andrews - Played in 2 games total back in 2023
RG - Ed Ingram - Benched after 10 games
RT - Tytus Howard

We're essentially starting 2 rookies and 2 guards that were absolutely abysmal last year.

 

I hope you are correct. I'm a huge fan of CJ's and it does none of us any good to have him regress.
It's just crazy timing with him, kind of approaching the end of his rookie deal.
the gamble is does he turn into JD Martinez or does he turn into Tua Tagovailoa?

 

In a better world, this kid plays LG this year with a vet LT who is teaching him the ropes

 

This made my head hurt but then I figured it out. I hope he ends up Baker Mayfield without the early career team change.

 

So much for Campbell not being able to do much with arms 1/2 inch too short

 

Nick gambled on Cam being ready to play LT so Ersery could play LG.

Then I think Nick wanted to show Ersery was a good pick / ready after being dragged for his other oline selections.
